It has been brought to my attention that some want the SeeD and CurvedSpace forums to be joined when the two sites are together. Before replying, please read the following points so you fully understand the idea:
- The CurvedSpace Forums will be joined with SeeD, not the other way around. This means that nobody here will lose their accounts, threads, post counts, or anything else. We would be doing this because SeeD has many more members than CurvedSpace and the transition would be easier.
- Members of CurvedSpace and SeeD will have their post counts from the current CurvedSpace Forums added onto their SeeD post counts. Members of CurvedSpace will have their post counts transferred upon request (PM me).
- All forums which currently have sub forums (SeeD forums) will be moved to a SeeD category (until we are capable of sub sub forums, hehe). This category will be located at the bottom of CurvedSpace.
- General Discussion will be changed to "SeeD Discussion" and will not be moved to the bottom. It will become one of the main forums, and another General Discussion will be made for truly general discussions (not SeeD).
- All non-SeeD sections will have more users eventually, allowing for larger discussions about anything not relating to Runescape or SeeD. Many members of CurvedSpace leave due to inactivity, though this will end once 500 members suddenly appear overnight (lol).
- More updates will surely happen, since I would no longer have to update two forums. This means faster upgrades of the forum software, more avatars, more emoticons, and faster support!
- NOTHING WILL BE LOST. The current CurvedSpace Forums will still be there for transferring of posts and profiles, post counts will be transferred, and absolutely nothing here will be deleted (again, the SeeD Forums will be used as a base for the new forum's construction, so everything here will remain and become part of CurvedSpace).
- The only thing that will be lost is the SeeD logo here (on the forums), and the only downside is that most of the SeeD-related forums will be moved to the bottom (with the possible exception of the current General Discussion, which may become "SeeD Discussion" and will remain at the top). There will be a sub forum though, including all SeeD forums except our current GD and forums with sub forums, which will be linked to from the SeeD site. It will allow for easy use of the forums for SeeD, easy use for CurvedSpace members, and even easier use for those who wish to use all our services!
- Combining the forums would probably be the link to truly combine the two sites, for it would allow interaction among everyone. There will be more members in both directions (CurvedSpace will experience rapid growth once SeeD is there to increase the activity of the forums, and those on CurvedSpace may become interested in SeeD and Runescape, improving our popularity), and this would allow for larger discussions and a more worthwhile experience!
I was just wondering what everyone thinks about this. I feel that it will be a huge benefit to SeeD and CurvedSpace once the sites join, but as always I will need everyone's opinions to make the best decision.
