Ive learned from Everquest 2 that some games require the most ridiculous requirements (because it said my pixel shader software wasn't supported). Also, Doom 3 crashed at the part were hell started to invade.

So to play guild wars, how would I upgrade my computer to play it, based on the info below:

Model: Dell Dimension B110
Processor: Intel Celeron 2.53 GHZ
Video Card: built in Intel 64mb
AGP slot: No... I'll have to use a PCI graphics card....
Memory: 1GB of RAM
Hard drive: 160 GB
OS: Ubuntu Linux 6.10

no... your not supposed to get it, that makes it funny.

Guild Wars works fine for me on Ubuntu... windowed and with no audio, sure, but it works, and I know there are workarounds for those issues. I've just been lazy.

Graphics card is probably the only thing you'd need to upgrade. Not sure what to recommend though. :|

Well here's the official requirement list for Prophecies...

Minimum System Specs:

* Windows XP/2000/ME/98 (This is due to the use of DirectX. If you have something that lets you use DX on another platform then that should be fine too.)
* Intel Pentium III 800 Mhz or equivalent
* 256 MB RAM
* CD-ROM Drive
* 2 GB Available HDD Space
* ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce 3 or 4 MX Series Video Card with 32MB of VRAM
* 16-bit Sound Card
* Internet connection
* Keyboard and mouse

I've seen it run on lower though. Just not very well. bluetongue.gif

Well, let me explain.

GW is run on a very simple, overly modified version of Torque Game Engine. (www.garagegames.com) If you have a new-ish (2005, about) computer, then it should run fine. grnwink.gif

Phi: His graphics card is a intel 64 bit, it will run fine if it runs okay (but with 1-20 fps lol) on my crappy intel thing. Lolzorz.

Yeah, internal video cards can be a bit underpowered at times. The rest of your specs should run it more than adequately, and I expect it'd play with your video card. Just wouldn't want to guarantee what kind of performance you'd get. Still, like most games you can scale down graphics and effects and stuff, so it shouldn't present too much of a problem. The OS thing I'm not really qualified enough to talk about though, I'm afraid.
