On his way to Euphrascia, Neraphym and Lohengrin encounter a man walking out of the brush. He is carrying in his arms a small, unconcious boy.

Strange Man: "Please sir, you must help me! My son has been bitten by a blooddrake."

Neraphym: "A blooddrake bite is lethal within 30 minutes, and I lack the antidote. I'm sorry, but your son will surely die."

Man: "But you have a dragon! You can fly him to a healer in Euphrascia!"

Neraphym: "The antidote is rare, and the blooddrakes are out in unprecedented numbers this season. From what I've heard, they've run out."

Man: "You must at least try! Please! He is my only son! You must save him! There must be a way!"

Neraphym: "Silence! I can do no such thing. Now I must be on my way."

Man: "Ah! I've heard of a healer in Forlon. He is said to be able to cure any ailment. I'm sure he can save my son."

Neraphym: "I doubt I could get your son Forlon in under a half hour! Besides, it is very far out of my way and I have business to attend to."

Man: "I'll make it worth your while! Here, take this!"

The strange man thrusts a strange black ribbon at Neraphym.

Neraphym: "What is this?"

Man: "It is a magical ribbon passed down my family. I'm not sure what it does, but I am told it possesses great magical qualities."

Neraphym: "Hm, I can certainly feel the power in this ribbon, but I cannot seem to understand it either. I do love a good mystery."

Neraphym cracks a slight smile.

Neraphym: "Fine, give me the boy. I shall try and get him to Forlon, but I can't promise he'll be alive when I get there."

Man: "Oh thank Lady Eranara! Make haste, kind sir!"

Neraphym takes the boy and lays him on the back of Lohengrin before mounting the great dragon himself. They take off to the east in hopes of saving the boy's fading life.
