I'll pass. The toys were enough for me and the TV show was boring.

July Fourth, you mean.

I'll be waiting in RABID anticipation for this movie. I was raised by the Transformers, and Optimus Prime is by far my biggest hero.

The only problem Atilla has is that he's probably only seen the new crap that is a replacement for the old Transformers. Remember, the retro cartoons from around the 80s era? And how AWESOME they were compared tot he crap shows we have today? No my friend, the cartoons from "The Day" are the things of legends.

I was also elated to hear they got the same voice actor from said cartoons to play Prime again. Back when I saw the trailers for the movie in PoTC3, I almost had a freaking aneurysm because I saw Prime transform. For me, this movie is a dream come true. I just hope it's worth it.

AUTOBOTS! TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.

I do barely remember the oldest of the old transformers. I'd watch it every once in a while because I liked the villain. The whole idea just never really peaked my attention though, and when I saw the CGI cartoon it got even worse.

I was too into Nicktoons. Rocko's Modern Life and Rugrats forever.

Yes, Megatron was cool, I'll admit.

But Optimus Prime kicks it to the street.

I never got into anything Transformers at all, so this isn't really a big deal. My roommate made me watch a few episodes of the 80's one, but I didn't much care for it.

Oh.
My God.

Spoiler free. None.

I finally got around to seeing this movie, yeah? I couldn't see it on release day because I was out of town, and went on 7/7/07. So like, today at 3 I ordered my tickets for a 7:20 showing. Two tickets. One for myself, one for my girlfriend.

So at 5:30, I go pick my girlfriend up. She thought it would be a neat idea to run to the mall and buy a shirt. She bought a shirt that had the movie cover from the original 1984 movie on it. (Keep in mind, she's never seen any kind of Transformers whatsoever. Never watched a show, just seen the old toys I still have.)

So we get to the theatre at like... 6:30. There's a line of about 30 people already in front of us. We get in line and present our tickets. I'm thinking... "Wow, this has to be friggen amazing." Yeah? I heard a lot of people saying that old age Transformer fans wouldn't appreciate the new version of all the Autobots and Decepticons.

So we're in line, talking, and we start moving to go in. Get our seats, sit down, flip through previews. All the while I'm saying to myself "This is the coolest girlfriend in the world." and stuff.

So the movie starts. And that old "OldAge Transformer fans wouldn't like the new movie" thing?
It's not true for me.

I can honestly say this was the best movie I have indeed ever seen. It stays at the top of my list and will be hard pressed to be removed from that spot. This isn't one of those movies you see and forget. This is a "Buy the DVD and watch it on every rainy day until you've memorized the whole thing" movie.

I'm never ever going to look at another 18-wheeler, Camaro, Pontiac GT, Hummer, jet, Helicopter, police car, firetruck or Humvee the same. Ever.

I cried. That hasn't really ever happened before.

11/10.

I might have to catch it on cable one day.

Or maybe just get some one to burn me a copy...

Also, it's one of those movies I'm glad I didn't wait for to show up on TV.

Definitely worth the effort spent going to see it. I recommend it. And don't rip off such a good movie that way. =/ It deserves the cash. bluetongue.gif

Yep, it's great.

1 complaint: MEGATRON IS A GUN, NOT SOME FLYING THING!

but seriously, full of action, epicness and to really make it great, it doesn't take itself seriously.
