Clues are nice, but unpredictable. If you're a reasonably good ranger (90+ at least) use ruby bolts on mithril dragons, and stand next to them with melee pray on. You'll last a good while there.

Change of plans due to the update:

Pest Control has changed its scoring format. So now i'm going for all the Void clothing and helmets.

Got the gloves, now I need everything else.

1 Game = 2 min = 4 points = 800 attack exp(earned 200 zeal minimum... nice...)
Gloves = 150 Points = 38 games = 1 hr 16 min (76min) = 30,400 attack exp
Other = 250 Points = 63 games = 2 hr 6 min (126min) = 50,400 attack exp
Helms = 200 Points = 50 games = 1 hr 40 min (100min) = 40,000 attack exp

Remaining time: 3 Others + 3 Helms = 11 hr 18 min(678min) = 271,200 attack exp
Obtained: Void Gloves

Shoot... I was hoping I would naturally reach 92 att. If I get too bored, i'll raise my str to 85 using a battleaxe. Only need 30k for that I think.

Edit: I have 250k exp to go in defense... so, i'm using the defensive part of the whip That'll take me to 85 def.

The new Pest control update doesn't really affect me, since Im maxed / I never really used it.

If you're looking for a varied way of fighting monsters, I suggest slayer. Its brilliant for variation, loot, and a bit more fun to killing creatures.

As for clue scrolls, I suggest hellhounds (Which you may obtain via slayer) - they're known (at least, for myself and a few other researching friends) to drop clues slightly more often. Of course, the downside is you get no other loot, minus those lil bones.


I tried ranging black dragons with rune arrows + 96 range potted the other day, annihilated them.

Got a Draconic Visage drop from a wyvern 4-5 weeks back, sold that for 19.5M.

Yeah, I need to slay more often. I'm so close to the high levels but can't find the desire. Maybe i'll buy a black mask. If that works like the salve with the undead, it'll make tasks a heck of a lot easier.

As for yesterday, I finally made my antifire pots. Working on them to make them all 4 dose pots, but the cat wouldn't leave me alone...

I wont get another Void item until the weekend, when I can spend more than an hour online. Oh, and apparently they adjusted how much exp you get from the monsters in Pest Control. Seems like they cut that in half... *mumble*

Yea, to prevent pures getting experience and all that. Slayer is great with the mask, but there are few undead tasks at high level, so i dont bother with salve.

Didn't have time to play yesterday. Something is in the air and it doesn't like me. Had to sleep earlier than usual...

There is another distraction as well. When Bejeweled and Win had a child, they named it Puzzle Quest. That is taking up a lot of my time.



As for the salve: Salve + Abbarent assignment = easy
I agree with you that the mask is far superior though. I tried a couple of times to get it myself but it didn't get me anywhere.

Didn't find a seller yet for a black mask, but i'm not really looking hard to begin with. Did buy Torags armor for the defense bonus. I'll use it as training armor.

Tried killing a few mithril dragons.
Each dragon takes me roughly:
1 Dose of SupAtt, SupDef, SupStr, AntiFire
4 Doses of Prayer
Lots of Monkfish

So out of the ones I killed I got a Rune Battleaxe, Ancient Page, 8 rune arrows, 8 rune javelins and 15 Mith Bars(A 121 dropped their bars). Barely worth it, but I doubt i'll continue until I get my range a lot higher so I can do the ruby tip method.

As for now, mining addy at Jatizso. Going to make a lot of addy bolts.

Do you have the old JRE still? You can check by the control panel and Add or Remove Programs. If you have an older version, remove it.

Is the version that you have Java SE Runtime Environment Version 6 revision (whatever)? Make sure you get it at java.sun.com

Frankly I would remove all JREs and reinstall the latest. See if that works.

Saturday -
With some inspiration from Superchao, I did a few level 3 clues. Nothing big, but I did score some rune armors so it made the trip worthwhile. Hey, it beats runes and food.


Sunday-
Did a little buying/selling last night. Fought my way into world 2, sold my torags and bought a verac flail and helmet to complete my set. Finally bought a black mask too.

Also bought 10 range pots and 20 saradomin brews so I can make a good run at the fight caves sometime next week.

Took some time to make 1000 addy bolts. That was pretty much it.

Did a little slaying and getting myself psyched up to go for the lava cape over the weekend.

Had Ankous, got a clue, got an H1 Rune Helm and other stuff. Goes nicely with the shield I recently bought from Chao

I might do some last minute range training before going for the caves.
