Found this topic in the Suikox forums where I frequent. So far this game is looking very impressive. Thought there might be a topic of it lodged somewhere here, but nope.

A very interesting RPG has been unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show...

It is called Shirokishi, translated as White Knight, and is being developed by Level 5, the creators of the Dark Cloud games, and Dragon Quest VIII. It's for the PS3, and is about 10% complete.

The story behind it is about a coming-of-age ceremony for a princess being attacked by a mysterious faction in black armour. The castle is destroyed, the king killed, but the princess is whisked away to safety.

It looks very interesting, but the real thing that made this capture my attention is it's developer, since I hold Level 5 in great esteem. However, you can form your own opinions from this gameplay movie. Personally, I find it very exciting, and I think I've just found an excellent reason to buy a PS3.

New post on the game from the Suikox forums, so here it is. Permission for the pictures was given.

There have been more screenshots released today, including some of the battle system using the in-game engine. I'll post them below!

Well, let's see. I'm still waiting for the second video to finish loading, so this will only be about the first one... bluetongue.gif

The graphics looked good, but I suppose most any game I see nowadays will have graphics that look good to me >.< Darned technology. Can't insult how things look now. Just need to wait until they master imperfection... Anyway. Graphics looked good, and the fight system from that first battle looked fun (that is, if you actually get to control the movements the characters were making and he wasn't just like... hit a button for 'fight' or 'block' and the character did the rest), but the huge fiery boss thing automatically disappointed me. I don't understand why like... -every- game of that genre that comes out of Japan (though I think most do anyway) seem to require large bosses that look rather unrealistic and such like that. I mean, maybe one or two, if there's a realistic idea -behind- it, but really... They over do it.Then when he became the big giant white knight thing, I was even more depressed. Why can't he simply fight creatures/people who are actually realistic... and be realistic himself by staying a normal person? -.-; A lot of Japanese games seem to involve turning into some giant thing as well. Can't bring any to mind, but my brain is -always- muddled XD I can scarcely remember any good details about what happened in Harry Potter 7, and I haven't been finished with that for even a week XD

... Anyway, it definitely isn't going to convince me to buy PS3. And there have been games that have convinced me to buy systems. I bought the Xbox 360 for Guitar Hero 2, although the promise of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Perfect Dark Zero, Halo 3, and others that I can't bring to mind (... because my brain is constantly muddled bluetongue.gif ) was good incentive as well...

Anyway, that way probably very long winded, as I am known by some to be, and probably meant very little in any case, but oh well! bluetongue.gif

... +1 posts ShiftyEyes_anim.gif

OOC: Finished the second video. ... Definitely not near convinced still bluetongue.gif
