it seems that as medical science progresses, we have the ability to wipe out some diseases, but other ones spring up. and I find it sad the we make such a big deal about some of these diseases.

There will never be a place quite like mideivel (sorry if i misspelled) europe, where people were just immune to most of the known diseases... sad... one explanation i heard was that we wash our hands too much.
