In all the games you've played, what have you found to be the most difficult challenge so far? It may be fun to figure out what's the worst. bluetongue.gif

Maybe it's something that you're not even intended to do, such as killing a supposed-to-be-unkillable enemy. Maybe it's something intended to be beaten by only the most serious players, such as a few challenges they put in the Final Fantasy series (the international version of FFX comes to mind). It could be single-player or multiplayer.

Here's what I think:

For its time, I'd say the Quarm battle in EverQuest I. I never got to face it, but when the Planes of Power expansion was current, it took months for a guild on Tholuxe Paells to take it out. Leading up to it was a chain of raids, ultimately ending with Quarm, a four-headed dragon (I think they called it a tiamat). Entire raids of 72 maxed-out players were wiped out by it. Today it's not as difficult since the level cap went up a bit, but at the time... Holy fizzlin' BBQ. bluetongue.gif

The most difficult problem I had in a game would have to be on Kingdom Hearts 1.

I remember when I first faced the "Unbeatable" Sephiroth, and was completely obliterated in seconds. Though it annoyed me at the time, I was amused how easy it was to beat him in the KH2. I still havent figured out how to beat him on the first game, due to my laziness and annoyance, (Though you could probably find out on the internet) and I probably never will. Somethings just arent supposed to be.

Hmm I used to play FFXI a few years ago and the hardest mob in there was one called Absolute Virtue. It was added to the game over a year ago and only has been killed a few of times across all servers and only using glitches (still extremely hard even if it can't attack you properly).
When it first came out on our server I remember there was a guild that fought it for 36 hours straight (they took literally shifts overnight attacking it) and finally got it to 10% health using a glitch in the environment, it then used the ability benediction which restored its health back to 100%. They took it down to 50% once again and it used benediction once more.
It still remains undefeated without using exploits, even when using 100s of players at the same time. Though the SE design team say they defeated it with 18 people.

As for single player games, I'd go for Penance in FF10 international without Zanmato.

The hardest for me was years back when I played Donkey Kong 64. In the fifth level (I think?), you have to face the dragon/dragonfly thing, and I just could not figure out the combo to beat him forever. It took me like, months. I went back to it after a break and pulled it off.. that was a good day. Good 'ol Donkey Kong, that brings back childhood memories.

Ah I remember that. It was the same thing for me on the second Star Ocean. I've been playing it since I was little, about that same age I think. It took me till I was 15 till I finally beat the final boss, 9-10 years later @_@.

There's nothing too difficult that I've run across in a game, since I usually look up information on a hard quest or mission beforehand bluetongue.gif .

I would be up to Penance if I weren't so determined to get every party member armour with 4 slots, break HP limit and break MP limit bluetongue.gif

I'd probably say Via Infinito in FFX-2.

Feed the plushie!
(Rayquaza plushie? WTF? It doesn't look anything like the other plushies!)

Through our bleeding we are one.

I'll have to third Penance. I literally fought that thing for HOURS without killing it. It has massive amounts of HP, and ridiculous abilities that mean you have to heal all the time, dragging the fight on even further.

A few years ago, when I first started playing FF 10, I immediatly got stuck on Sinspawn Gui hehe. I'm not sure why I found it hard :$ Anyway I gave up and a few months later I decided to try again, and defeated it easily. Heh, strange how that happens sometimes o.0

Aghh got the urge to go on FF10 now XD

I too also remember playing FF10, though I only rented it from a friend at the time. The farthest I got was, i dont remember what it was called, but it was like a lightning temple I think. I got stuck there trying to figure out some puzzle or another. I never did get past that part, seeing as I had to give the game back before I could.
