I was just wondering if this sounds like a good idea...

What if we had our own map gallery? Those who mapped everything could take screenshots of their maps, piece them together, and we could put labels on them to help everyone out. For example, good farming areas could be pointed out, treasures can be marked, or whatever else. All the outposts would also be visible since the maps would be completed.

I know it's been done before, but we could have our own stuff here. It could probably help new players out quite a bit.

i like the idea, though it means i shall have to start scraping gwen too...eh, i'm up for it, and in addition, if we do it well enough and they look neat enough, we could make a member on the wiki of the name of our guild and submit them, in that way we may get more notice and people asking/researching us, which means more visitors and potential members

I'm all for it Alpha and myself already have Legendary Cartographer, so between us, we've already got most of the work done =D

As for GW:EN, I'm in the process of doing that at the moment, because it counts towards the Master of the North title

Well, I'm standing here in pre- with a completely cleared map, so I guess I'll be able to provide that at least .

A few months ago I was thinking of making something similar using Google Maps and lots of lovely javascript... but then decided it was too much effort

Hmm... That could be interesting If nothing happens before exams are finishing, i'll give it a go then (about 4 weeks away.)
