California Bans Phrases Like "Mom and Dad" from Being Spoken in Schools

Governor/Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed into effect a new law that will prohibit words like "husband and wife", or "mom and dad" from being spoken or read by both schoolteachers and students.

The bill is part of Schwarzenegger's ongoing battle against traditional heterosexual-based curriculum in an effort to make public schools more gay and trans friendly. Books describing marriage between a man and a woman will be outlawed.

Students will also have the right to use the restrooms of the gender they identify as, regardless of their physical sex. Any disputes towards these students could be considered hate speech under a law already passed by Schwarzenegger in the past.

For Christs sakes... I could say so many things right now, but the main thing that is on my mind is why the flying {expletive ninja'd by Cspace} would you allow a guy in a girls bathroom?

Yeah. It's segregated by sex for a -reason-.

I wish that was a joke. I really do. You know how people say crap like "I just lost faith in humanity" after reading about moronic moves like that... I'm just really disappointed. I thought better of him than that. I really did.

I find it funny. America is the 'Land of the Free'? Then why are we slowly losing those freedoms?
Christ, if you're going to make something accesible to one group of people, don't {expletive ninja'd by Cspace}ing ban it for everyone else. That impedes on OUR freedoms and OUR rights. Gay rights? What the hell ever happened to Straight rights? Oh. Those never existed, did they? That's right, because straight people have never really been as sensitive about what happens to us, yet if someone from a minority group are LOOKED AT IN A WAY THEY DON'T LIKE, they scream "You're hating me and discriminating against me!"

So. Now that California has been made "Homo and trans friendly", it has been restated as anti-hetero. Am I right?

So much for America being Free.

That's nothing if not stupid. How are they supposed to go about enforcing it?

I'm still seeing discrimination here. Okay, so they're trying to not descriminate against gays and transexuals (with descrimination against heterosexuals instead). What about bisexuals, pansexuals, autosexuals, polysexuals and asexuals? Do they just not exist at all? Or are they not common enough to bother with?

I'm with Res, there's a reason that toilets are separated by gender. I can see how this could turn out very, very badly.

Rape rate in California is about to skyrocket. It's being thought everywhere. I just made it vocal.

Oh! And I thought of this. It made me laugh.

Well, you can't "battle against traditional heterosexual-based curriculum" without cracking a few eggs.

There was a massive spike in boys claiming to be homosexual since homosexual boys were allowed by California law to go in the girl's bathroom.
Sorry, I had to say that.

Does this mean you can say "husband and husband"?
This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard politicans say. And that's... really bad.

If the quote on the first post is accurate, you don't even need to go that far:

QUOTE

So it would be more along the lines of: I identify myself as a woman... I just happen to like other women too.

This was a -very- stupid move. But yeah, they'll never be able to enforce it, though. And even if everyone did know about it, teachers would probably let you say any of that stuff anyway. No one will probably ever care bluetongue.gif

My God, why have we come this far? Really, it's shameful that humans have the need to corrupt and then "fix" things in such a way that it doesn't matter what else it breaks, as long as one specific thing is fixed. "Oh, that anthill down there is starting to get annoying, so let's roll a huge boulder down on it from a mountain top! It might kill some humans along the way, but HEY, THE ANTHILL WILL BE DESTROYED!"

Pathetic. It seems politicians and certain other humans have a motto. "No such thing as too-pathetic!"

That's exactly what I was thinking.

What the hell, seriously? HOLY CRAP IN A BUCKET!

I can understand trying to make schools "Homo-and-trans-friendly" maybe, but BANNING books that aren't about non-hetero couples??
Is he trying to discourage heterosexual marriage now??

I come from California, and I now fully understand why people assume you're {expletive antidisestablishmentarianized by Cspace}-backwards when you say you're from there.

EDIT:

You bring up a very good point, Res: The minority will soon become the majority, and all of the former non-minorities will loose freedom of speech.
We get dirty looks if we say anything we don't like regarding a homosexual (and you could be talking about his shoes, or his hair), and labeled as "Homophobic" (I'm serious). But if a homosexual says he hates women it's not called hate-speech, "He's just gay, that's all."

By the way. Check my blog for a very opinionated post.
