This is true. I personally know a bunch of them, Invisionfree does not keep their forums that well protected. The problem is also that people add 'mods' (as in modifications) to their administrative sections without knowing what they truly do. HTML can add back doors if you're not careful.

Personally, I'm all for it; yeah, stuff happened, but stuff changes. And it's silly to not keep an open mind. In fact, close-mindedness could -cause- the very things the close-minded people fear, y'know?

Blame it on the Pop

Why yes... I did give in to this here thing above. =O

It might be a little bumpy at first because of all the new faces, but what about the longterm? Again, it's in everyone's power to make it work.
We're capable of a lot of things. I'm sure this isn't beyond us.

But what tips the scale? I don't see how it's a rhetorical question.
You asked "what is more important: SeeD's well being or an old grudge?" I think that's a rhetorical question since people aren't supposed to answer with "the grudge."

I'll try to give the benifit of the doubt to... well, I can't say UFF since I never really disliked them... to this possible merge.
Off-Topic: This topic seems to be helping with activity based on the replies. Perhaps we make topics like this more often.

Oh, my fault, I misunderstood you.

Controversy for the win!

Honestly: based on the answers i'm curious what would be the result of a vote here- like UFF apparently did to approve of the merge on their end. But again that's just curiosity.
All in all, those who harbor ill-will towards the uff of the past should keep those feelings in the past. Those feelings are justified, but when BlackOpps said that the oldest member is only 10 months old, it should override those feelings. Technically, the 'second chance' is just with the name UFF only. The members joining the SeeD faction are a first-time opportunity and nowhere near a 'second chance'.
I wouldn't mind seeing an increase of activity. THAT really is tempting. And the promise of the proverbial clean-slate of members could be to everyone's benefit.

'Kay then, I don't have much of a problem with it

... I beg to differ.
Anyway, I don't think a vote is really necessary. If, as BlackOpps said in the first quote in this post, they really are dropping the name UFF and going by the name SeeD, then it's the same as if they're just joining us as new members, not really unified in any way except that they know eachother. In fact, there's no reason to even call it a merge. No one's stopping them from joining, and since they are apparently not joining as UFF, there's no reason they can be hindered. While we, the members of CurvedSpace, may have a say in what other clans we merge with, we have no say in who joins these forums. So if we don't call it a merge (which we can't really, unless BlackOpps was OMG LYING [

... I hope that made sense XD

Quite correct, and as long as people behave, those evil Super Moderators won't step in.

I don't trust that Tanny. We all know he is a S-Mod in disguise.

Oh, no doubt. One time I took over Cspace's body and checked the Mod Logs in the administration panel, and there were literally -hundreds- of entries of some mod abusing his powers getting up to all sorts of mischief, and they were all labeled 'Tanny', 'Tanny', 'Tanny', 'Tanny', and all of them were...
... Wait... I probably shouldn't be disclosing this HIGHLY CLASSIFIED information to all these people lacking security clearance...
