The number of ranks seems about right I think, Darkness was right that my suggestion had still been too conservative.

I'm liking the look of things so far, one thing I'm still a little confused by is assignments. I've seen one or two similar ideas in the past, but normally they seem to either not be used, or be a way for higher tiers to profit from the enthusiasm of lower tiers. I like the idea of there being something concrete differentiating the tiers other than who they can promote, but some examples of what kind of stuff you meant for it would be welcome. I guess there could be community-based assignments (assigning people to help with recruiting, or working on an extra-large event, etc.), but most in-game assignments would seem to be fairly one-sided in who they help.

Anyway, yeah, if you could elaborate a bit then that'd be good.

I was thinking that they could be either intended to help the guild, or be some sort of in-game challenges. I should have probably explained a bit more, but I wasn't really thinking of assignments as helping specific members.

The in-game stuff would be like winning guild battles, succeeding with certain raids, making gold for a guild hall, or whatever else along those lines. The community stuff would involve recruiting, events, and that sort of thing.

Hmm, I guess how applicable they are depends heavily on the game. I was relating things back mostly to Runescape, which is very self-focused in its achievements. That's what had me concerned, I suppose. In other games they might work better.
