Both Basketball and Soccer are very popular and enjoyed by many, but which is better to watch and why?
Ill Argue Why basketball is better when someone argues that another sport is better.

let the debate begin.

Between the two, I'd say basketball because it's faster. In my opinion, though, I think American football is the most entertaining to watch.

It's all about what entertains you. Soccer isn't necessarily any more entertaining to watch than basketball. It depends on the person. I really don't like either, but I'd probably choose basketball.

I'm not much of sports-watching type of person, but I personally prefer basketball above both football and soccer.

I'm sure it varies from person to person.

Objectively, I'd say soccer by far gets the most participation in amongst the entire world. In that respect, soccer is the dominant sport. Here in America, it's our version of football that has the most insane fans. I don't know about basketball too much, but it's up there. I wouldn't give it a top spot, though.

Soccer. They have riots.

Basketball is just a bunch of sweaty men slapping eachother.

Basketball is more spectator friendly though, its indoors and played on a smaller area than most sports, except netball.

Isn't netball just women's basketball? =/

I'd say entertainment wise, basketball first, football second, and soccer last.

But as far as actually playing, I'd play football over basketball anyday.

I prefer soccer over all of them. Basketball seems a bit TOO fast. And putting aside my already massive hatred of football, I have to say when people chill out about it all, it's pretty cool to watch. I go for all sides during a game.

(Except my schools football team. I've never cheered for them once.)

Soccer has my pick, though. Just seems like it'd be more challenging to play, hence a more entertaining game.

Plus, headbutts aren't exciting in football since it happens every 20 seconds. When it happens in soccer though, it's a big deal. biglaugh.gif

I went to an ice hockey match once and sat by the ice and it was one of the best sporting thingys I've ever seen, it was so needlessly violent. It was pretty exciting.

And then there was a soccer match in Argentina, that was intense. The atmosphere was something else.

So I'd say ice hockey and (real) football are the best, stuff your basketball and American football.

Football is entertaining to watch, like baseball, because it doesn't require your constant attention. I believe football beats out baseball since those moments of required attention contain more action. When there is a guarantee of collision among most of the players on the field.. you can't really beat it. bluetongue.gif

But I think it depends on if you actually participate(d) in a sport, too. I like spectating track meets the most, simply because I do track and field. I can involve myself in it more. As for watching sports just for pure entertainment, I'd have to again settle with American football. However, I get confused whenever someone I'm watching it with gets extremely angry or excited and starts yelling. And disturbed.

It's hard to explain. Sometimes people go insane (including me bluetongue.gif ).
