Well, my 360 has Terminal cancer the beloved RRoD.

I'm up studying, left the thing on for MSN purposes and forgot about it. I stood up, got a drink, and noticed that lovely blinking light.
The strange thing? I'm too tired to be pissed off.

Oh, wow. It works now.

The only thing I can think of that's causing this is overheating since it was idling in the dashboard for OMG LIEK 8 hours, but then again, it was standing up in the middle of the floor, and it was 70degrees in my room with the window open.

I'm thinking about just making a setup consisting of like... 2 80mm fans attached together in the back of the 360 to help airflow. It'd be cheaper and faster than sending it in.

Edit: I'll send it in when they actually find a way to fix the 360s. In like... a year if I can help it.

No, the red ring doesn't always mean instaban. I've had it happen to Nox's 360 while it was under my care. At Halo 3 release, we tried to hook a TV and 360 up to a 1000 Watt adapter to play it in the back of my Jeep. Wheeljacks battery wouldn't hold it and it made the 360 make a resounding POP sound. We tried again, Red Ring.

"Oh shi--.... Uh, Nox?"

We ran it into EB games and asked if we could plug it in to see if all hope was not lost. Sure enough, it worked perfectly, and hasn't had any problems since.

May just be due to overheating. I'm not completely betting against it.

That's the best watercooled 360 I've seen so far.

I'm sending the 360 to M$ for chemotherapy. It's got RRoD, a screwed up DVD drive, freezing, the works.

Bah.




Ps: The days of M$ having english speaking tech support people are over. I think the lady was yapping at me in either spanish or indian 1/2 of the time.

I got a RRoD the second day after I bought mine brand new. It just froze up right in the middle of Oblivion (I'd just grabbed one of the Sigil Stones too ).

It hasn't happened since.
