Double-post!

I added a direct link to this forum in our contact info using the doa.cspacezone.com thing. I also had a possible backstory idea at about 4AM last night... I was half-asleep, delusional and possibly feverish at the time though, so feel free to throw it back if you guys don't like it...
Basically I thought it might be kinda cool to combine GW lore with some of our own. Our name is derived from Darkstorm (well kinda, pretty much just stuck 'Aderon' in there because it sounded cool), so we could make use of that. Anywhere, here's what I found scribbled on a scrap of paper when I woke up, it seems fairly likely that I wrote it. I know next to nothing about Darkstorm so those details would still need to be fleshed out by someone smarter than me, and feel free to suggest any changes. I haven't written it up properly, but I'll try to get the main points across.
When Vizier Khilbron triggered The Cataclysm and sunk Orr, vast amounts of magic were released. This power was of a great enough magnitude to destabilize space-time itself, ripping open an unstable rift between worlds. A patrol of Aderonian knights of Earthia were caught up in this rift, and were transported to the unfamiliar world of Tyria. While attempting to find out what had happened and how to return home, they began to notice strange new abilities emerging, magic made available by the Tyrian Bloodstones. They also became aware of the plight of the local people, and decided to do what they could to help these Ascalonians. Time passed, and the Defenders of Aderon became well-known and powerful heroes.
While they often thought of the loved ones left behind in their own world, the land of Tyria was scientifically backwards due to their fascination with magic, and nobody had been able to provide them with useful information as to how they might return. This changed in 1073 AE, a full year after Shiro's death and the fulfillment of the Flameseeker Prophecies. A messenger came to their Canthan guild hall from the fabled land of Elona, claiming to come on behalf of the Arbiters' Order. The Arbiters had long been legendary back on Earthia as a mysterious order with an uncertain agenda, with dozens of rumours for every small fact known about them.
Following the events of the Cataclysm, the Arbiters had worked tirelessly to investigate what had caused the fluctuation in space. They had managed to reopen a portal between worlds, and arrived in a strangely deserted structure which they named 'CurvedSpace', after the scientific theories of their greatest leader who had also gone missing during the Cataclysm. CurvedSpace seemed to be some sort of hub between worlds, left behind many centuries earlier. Throughout the structure they found countless murals and statues, many of which were unfamiliar but some which seemed strangely similar to the gods of Earthia. While their scientists worked on making use of the dormant machinery left in CurvedSpace, others amongst them postulated that the unknown statues might be gods from other worlds, perhaps even that the many different gods were each themselves only aspects of a universal few. There was certainly some similarities, such as the tree-like statue inscribed 'Melandru' and their own Lady Eranara, or the bearded warrior Balthazar and the paladin Aranel of Pompelus.
In time CurvedSpace was brought back to its former glory, and its many portals were reactivated. Operatives were sent to each world to gather information, as well as to bring back supplies. It was on one such trip that several Arbiters came across a solitary man who seemed to know more about them than he should. The only name he would give them was the 'Master of Whispers'. He explained that the role of his organization was roughly analogue to that of the Arbiters' Order, and provided them with information about Tyria. Through him, they learned that the event which had weakened the fabric of space had been orchestrated by the fallen god Abaddon, in an attempt to break through back into Tyria from his prison. He also mentioned Abaddon's later attempts at freedom, the Door of Komalie and the corruption of the Tomb of Primeval Kings. Realizing that if Abaddon was allowed to return he would likely attempt to destroy other worlds as he hoped to do with Tyria, the Arbiters pledged their support. The Master of Whispers merely told them to seek out those who had thwarted the Flameseeker.
The Defenders of Aderon were overjoyed to regain communication with Earthia, and some of their members decided to return home, or to seek out adventure in the many other worlds linked to from CurvedSpace. Amongst them were the original leaders of the Defenders of Aderon, who had long ago passed the torch to the young, talented and somewhat unwilling Farneka Laisara. New recruits filled this leadership vacuum however, both old friends from through the rift as well as Tyrian natives hoping for glory. Perhaps most surprisingly was the revelation that Aranel Nighthawk, most senior officer of the Defenders, was actually the leader of the Arbiters' Order and had been placed as an operative amongst the Aderonian knights years earlier. While he could not abandon the Order, he had formed a close bond with his comrades during the years of isolation and so he chose to oversee CurvedSpace so he could be called back at a moments notice if his assistance was needed.
The Defenders of Aderon lent their strength to the Sunspears in overcoming Abaddon, with many Sunspears being drawn to the guild due to their similar code of honour. They were successful, but not without casualties. Following the aftermath of Abaddon's attempt at nightfall, Farneka Laisara suddenly stood down as leader, feeling he had sent too many friends to their graves. One of the newer recruits from the re-established rift was selected as replacement leader, Shizune Godspeed. Under his leadership the veterans of the Defenders of Aderon undertook a new regime of training, preparing themselves for the next threat to their adopted home of Tyria.
Yeah, got a bit carried away with all that. It's pretty rough, was just writing what came to my head. The Darkstorm-related stuff would probably need to be adjusted to be a bit more coherent with the DS storyline, since I don't know it. I wasn't really sure how much in-detail to go with particular characters, since at a certain point it just starts to sound like you're name-dropping your guildies into the history. Feedback, improvements, criticism, etc. are most definitely welcome. Sorry for any typos in there, don't have the patience to proofread right now.
