I just overclocked my little 1.6GHz Sempron to 2.0GHz.
Go me.
I could go higher, but my motherboard is not too overclocker friendly. I'd need to up my voltage and mess with the multipliers which it won't let me do.

Higher than 2.00GHz and it won't post. Higher than 1.97GHz and it's unstable. I could go much higher, but my motherboard isn't overclocking friendly. All I can do is mess with my CPU core speed. Not multipliers, not voltage, nothing.
Anyway, I hit my sweet spot, and I now meet minimum reqs for most games!

Probably Feb 5th since I need to get a PSU ($100)to be able to have a GPU ($260).
I might grab 4GB of DDR2-800 if I have the spare cash.

I'm not too worried about the processor. It's a >$30 model anyways.
I'm planning on eventually selling off this mATX mobo that I have, replacing it with an intel, and getting a Q6600. That's a ways off though.
And weather I stick with AMD or go Intel pretty much hinges in weather or not the Phenom does well.
