I disagree Aaron.

Well, if you are running a country, you would want it to be a communist country, because it is easy to rule stupid people.

Makes sense.

There are risks though, like the citizens may want to turn against with thier freedom.

Also makes sense.

But if you were a capatilist country, there is a low chance that the people will revolt, but you have less controll....

Makes sense.

I guess if you are the citizen, capatalism ftw!!! thumb.gif

True, since capitalism gives the people more control then the government - even though the government still rules the people (military-should it ever get that far).

It seems that your belief is that capitalist countries are inherently more free. I don't agree as capitalism is considered an economic system, not a political system. A capitalist dictatorship is technically possible, for example.

You have made me think, Ziggy.

You're correct it is possible, and yes capitalism is more a economic system then a political system, however they tend to be ran more like a government system then a economic one. For example, many of the countries in Europe and the America's. The issue is, unfortunately, that the more people get the what they want the more they get used to it - and this in turn leads to people wanting more until they're fat. lol bluetongue.gif

A capitalist dictatorship is technically possible, however I don't see it working in reality. I would think the people would revolt eventually, especially since they are being held back from what they truly want - freedom, which is quite frankly never going to completely happen on this earth.

I am reminded of the quote from Men in Black I that goes along the lines of, "No people are not at heart good people. People are idiotic, self-indulgent, <forgot the rest>". Basically, it talks about how one person is smart, however people are not - unfortunately this is true, you could have the smartest people alive in one room and all they will have to offer is stupid ideas and arguments.

One sees the idea of a "capitalist dictatorship" all the time in dystopian fiction, in the form of the megacorporation that takes over the world/country.

Also, one does not "run" a truly communist country.

Communism has never existed. Authoritarian dictatorships masquerading as communists have. If, for example, Fidel Castro had no more money than the average Cuban, or Stalin than the average Soviet, then they'd at least be closer, but even then they'd need some radical political changes beyond that.

Now that you broke it down, it does make sense. I guess I was reading it wrong.

True communism is really the closest we can get to a utopian society. Unfortunately, greed keeps true communism from existing.
