we need to have a rolecall every three months to keep the list updated. we should make a new post and then after 1-1/2 wks we remove the old memberlist and instate the new one with the members who have re-joined on the role-call post, at the bottom you could add an inactive memberlist of those who were on the old list, but haven't re-joined yet.

Hmm.. we've usually never tried to remove members off the members list though.. For one, it might discourage an old member from returning (even if they see themselves on an "inactive list"). Also some of the members we have on the members list are active on runescape but not always active here, so they would soon get pushed off the list.

The active/inactive thing could work if everyone knew who was and who wasn't constantly, but I guess that's obvious bluetongue.gif And I don't think that'd be too discouraging to come back to - the older members would have to post and say they're active again. But I'm not sure about those who aren't active on the forums very much, but 3 months is awhile..

Something to definitely think about though biglaugh.gif

By the way, I didn't mean this, but rather this. SeeD-based. If I remember correctly we have changed the list every so often before, and it might be time to do it again, but having a set time to 'start fresh' (so to speak) on the faction member list rather then have it bulk up too big to a point where managing it is hard.

You may have known what I meant, but just wanted to clear on that, and wasn't sure if that's what BlackOpps and/or you meant.

As far as people being active on RS, and not here, we've never required forum participation (to my knowledge, however to be listed as a member of the SeeD faction it might be good to keep an updated list. It allows for people to better recognize who is, and who isn't, actively in SeeD. I think to post a new faction list every three months isn't difficult, and would help others to recognize who is active and who is not. We could always use RuneHead as well.

EDIT: Updating would probably have to rely on people posting in the topic, even if they didn't post anywhere else or at all. ShiftyEyes_anim.gif

Aye, I got what you meant, no worries bluetongue.gif I remember we did have a system like this before where inactives were colored different on the list. I don't think he means to get rid of the members list we have now, but to have a roll call topic like we have in General Discussion, and update the list from the posts there (I think, if I got you wrong BlackOpps, correct me bluetongue.gif ). That would be a bit easier than deleting the list entirely - editing is easier than creating a whole new topic. "Bulking" the list up shouldn't be a bad thing, though (it's not too hard to edit), and it prolly shouldn't be the reason we're changing it - but it would be useful to see who's active/not TheSmile.gif

I've been thinking or updating the List a little. Wasn't sure how to go about it.

Deleting the members name entirely from the list may not be a completly good idea, but a list of inactive members below the active members sounds ok. All they have to do is post to get back on the active list.

1. pretty simple just have ppl post their names on the new thread.
2. after 1-1/2wks remove old list and change name of the role-call list to memberlist
3. put all the members in the old list that aren't active (haven't re-posted) below the active members in an inactive member list.

and wal-ah! you got an updated list. thumb.gif
