Good observation, MoS. Things are getting worse by the day. Just today, Florida officially announced that they would not seek a new primary (Florida and Michigan's primary results were nullified by the party in January). Obama is pulling away, but there are several primaries yet to come.

As a side note, Hillary will be visiting my town on Thursday. This should be interesting.

IMO:
Florida and Michigan delegates should not count. If the people of those states want to know why, they should go to their local/state demo committees and ask why they(the committee) couldn't follow rules that were agreed upon a Year And A Half in advance and easily followed by Every Other State instead of going to the DNC and crying foul. Maybe demand more competent members who won't screw up an election, party or presidential.

At the same time, it's idiotic to keep the number of delegates necessary to win the ticket the same. It should have been reduced to reflect the disqualified states. Which brings me to my next point:

Obama is winning the popular vote/delegates as time goes by. Hillary is winning the Superdelegates and has enough delegates to keep afloat. The fact that the # to win remained the same put a heavy emphasis on the superdelegates. Basically:
If Hillary wins the ticket via Superdelegates: I guarantee that McCain will be President. These elections are bringing NEW voters who are primarily voting democrat, not hardcore dems. Winning the ticket through Supers is telling new voters "Screw you, you're not that important." Those voters will most likely either vote third party or not vote, effectively splitting the party and any lead they once had.

If either delegate wins through popular and superdel means, then I truly, Truly hope they can unite the party in time. Use topics that mean alot to not only your core voters, but the new voters as well. Also, please, make those topics legitimate. The whole "Hillary has white house experience" irks me. Telling me Hillary has presidential experience is like telling me Yoko Ono was a Beatle.

*Just my opinion*

I'm republican but your right man, I live in Michigan and Granholm just had to make Michigan look good so she broke the rules an moved us up...my school was in a riot practically.

And it wasn't even for the primaries, it was to help our crappy economy gain some advertising money. angry-smiley-019.gif

Voting shouldn't be about who will "win" or who is more popular. You should vote for whomever you vote for because of who they are and what they stand for.

Me?...I'm voting for Mike Gravel, if he's still in the race. He's a little known democrat that wants to make gay marriage legal.

Mike Gravel

Little difficult to do unless you intend to completely abandon your current identity.

And, the only benefits they'll get is a rightful path to citizenship, which you already have.

On a serious note.... I hate Bush haters.
Look, did he make bad decisions? yes.
Were they horrible? no.
Is he stubborn? yes.
Does that make him an idiot? no.

Am I a Michigan mostly-Democrat who is upset at the pollitical state of affairs not only city and state but now national? Yes

I would like to point out that after the troop surge, the death toll has dropped considerably.

Please tell me you're kidding. And, your generation is already fighting over there. I know two guys in my class who just enlisted in the Marines.

Do you know what you're talking about? A mass murder of random people.
If you don't want to talk about ethics (which you don't seem to be concerned with already), I would like to point out how much worse we would be then since, you know, EVERYONE would hate us. Al Qaeda would swell with members, riots would occur, and no other country would help us because of that slaughter.

The death toll doesn't drop. ugh.gif

If you're referring to the death rate, this is true, but irrelevant.
