Likewise, although I've been looking at other breeds as well, as far as cats with "wild" looks, the Egyptian Mau and the Toyger look very interesting. I haven't checked into their personalities as much as the Bengal yet. There are too many very beautiful cat breeds anyway >_<.

Oh! In case you guys down there have a different common name for it, it used to be Felis bengalensis, currently classified and Prionailurus bengalensis. (Funny, I know their names better than their pictures...)

It sort of looks like an anteater.

Heheh, well, it does eat ants (but prefers termites), its scientific name ralates to ants, but it's not related to anteaters -- it's actually a marsupial.

I looked at that picture, and 'numbat' jumped into my head. They're endemic to Australia, if memory serves.

If it's not a numbat, then I've no idea what it is.

I ended up finding the Numbat on the "Anteater" page on Wikipedia. It's a very cute and cool animal TheSmile.gif . Zoo, do you know how many US zoos keep them?

Hmm... apparently none, from the info I have available. There are 12 males and 12 females listed in ISIS (international species information system) at Perth Zoo.
