If I understand correctly, technically your parents got $300 because they claimed you as a dependent, and should have got an additional $600 each. And it's the same for pretty much everyone unless their income was above a certain amount last year.

As I didn't have more than $600 worth of income last year, and therefore didn't file income taxes, I didn't receive a check.

Just got a job this year. Haven't had any considerable amount or time to file anything.
