The arena of Forlon attracts warriors from everywhere in Earthia, seeking fame and riches, for both are plenty for those who survive. Gladiators are pitted against eachother in bloody fights to the death, while spectators cheer them on and gamblers bet money on one combatant or the other. The arena is built like a ring, the circular pit in the middle where the warriors fight. There are two entrances to the pit for the fighters, one at either side, both of which have a metal gate that is raised and lowered to allow combatants in, and, once they are inside, keep them from fleeing. Within the gate is a narrow staircase that leads down to underneath the arena. The staircase is covered in long streaks of blood...
Surrounding the pit, a ring filled with seats. At either end of the spectators' ring are two raised platforms. One is used for distinguished people to sit, like visiting nobles or royals, with a better view of the bloodbath, while at the other end is clearly where the announcer would stand, as the location seems designed to echo the announcer's voice throughout the arena.
Beneath the pit and ring of spectators is the underworkings of the arena. Combatants go there before and after battles, and there are places for the warriors to sleep and to train. Blood is present throughout much of this area, as it seems that the blood from the fighting pit above often seeps through the cracks. At either end of this lower area are two staircases that lead up to the pit. This would be where warriors go up to pit to fight their battles and come back down. That is, if they survive. The staircases are covered in long streaks of blood, as it seems that if they do not survive, their bodies are dragged back down the staircases and taken someplace else.
So... The choice is yours. Do you wish to gamble away your money on one combatant or another? Or do you perhaps wish to gamble your life for a far greater reward? Or do you just want to see some blood spilled?
