Recently my modem has started losing connection every 15 mins or so and as a result; while playing runescape, it loses connection. When it says it has lost connection and attempts to reestablish it, it says: Loading, please wait. in the top left hand corner of the screen as usual, but when it does; it just freezes, forcing me to refresh. My system is Windows Vista. Anyone know anything that could help?

Your modem has been losing connection? o.O

Make sure all the cables are plugged in properly, restart your modem (and router if you have one), if you're using wireless, make sure you're in range. uhm.

Anything else you can tell us about your setup?

its only just recently and i havn't changed a thing. Yes, it's a wireless connection with a speedstream 0440 modem, vista home computer. All cables are in properly, tried restarting the modem and the computer a number of times.

Yeah, that could well be it. Depends what kind of plan with bigpond you have. Log into your 'My Bigpond' page and check for a monthly usage page. TheSmile.gif

Some games are kinda unplayable on capped internet... With optus, I was being capped at 28.8kbps. Sooooo slow. But not anymore. Internode ftw. Anyway, it's quite possible that you might disconnect because of it. Just wait it out and see if you don't get disconnected once the month has reset.

srry ratty but i figured it out. When some family members came down from their house, they couldnt log into the internet, so we let them use our password and user. They have now gone out to the country but they left their modem on and, as a result, every time the modem reconnects, to update its service, it uses our connection. Every time is does this it disconnects our internet.

THX FOR ALL YOUR HELP RATTY!!!
