Let me know what you think:

Warning

Dear reader,

Thank you for picking up this book. I encourage you to read this warning and the preface before buying this book. I make no promises that you will enjoy this book or not wish to return it tomorrow morning.

This book is entirely fictional and takes place in Benign Florida, Milting Texas, and Zorn Maryland. The cities are entirely fictional and not based on any place real, fictional, or otherwise.

I chose to use fake cities to better allow for a more creative story. I used the states because I am familiar with them and have visited all three states before. I make no fun of the states or the people who live in them; this story is fully fictional and makes no account of actual events.

With that said, I got the idea for this story years ago when visiting family in Florida. The moments in this story, however, never happened and I assure you that your shower is safe.

Please read the preface before buying this book, as I can make no promises of the return policy of the store you are buying from. I do not recommend this book for children or those who are frightened easily.

I would not classify this as horror, but rather suspense, as although this book does contain some violence it is not a blood and gore book. I recommend this book to all those who enjoy a bit of confusion and wonder. This book does not contain any hatchets, nor does it contain any men with knives.

I repeat, this is not a horror book but rather suspense. If this intrigues you, dear reader, then continue and read on.

Preface

Since you are still reading, I suppose it is my duty as the writer to continue writing. This book starts off in Benign Florida where most of the events take place. We find our rather plain hero-to-be visiting his grandmother and grandfather while traveling with his cousin.

I hope that the plot of this book is not too obvious, however it all begins after our friend has visited for a week. He chooses to go without a shower for that week and his grandparents and cousin are tired of smelling his bad odor.

I suppose I should clue you in on the fact that something is odd about this shower, as there is only one in this house and it doesn’t always work.

When the shower does work, there is always something wrong with it – at least as far as our hero-to-be is concerned. We will call him Melvin, and I hope Melvin will be a most cunning hero indeed.

Shall we begin?

Chapter 1 – The Back-story

I remember getting off the bus and finally arriving in Benign Florida. It was classified as a city because of the number of people who lived there, but it was a rather small town compared to what I am used to.

I was already beginning to miss Zorn Maryland and wanted to return home, however my mother and father were on vacation and they didn’t trust me to be by myself. I suppose I should have seen something wrong when they wouldn’t let me stay with my aunt and uncle who lived only a few blocks away.

My cousin, Mel, was also coming with me to see our grandfather and grandmother. The wind was rather strong that day and there was even call for a hurricane sometime during our visit, I wasn’t paying much attention to the news as I was more concerned with being somewhere besides the back of the bus.

My cousin, Mel, is three days older then I am. He always seems more mature though, and preferred the back of the bus because he felt it made him more mature. For some reason our parents got us a plane ticket that didn’t stop right in Benign Florida, instead it took us to some smaller town where we had to take a bus to get to Benign.

My parents were always cheap, so I suppose it should have been no surprise they wanted to save money. Thankfully, our grandparents did not have that problem. I remember thinking of all the wonderful presents I would get, oh and of course Mel would get some too.

I didn’t properly introduce myself, did I? My name is Melvin, and before you start I know that my name is Melvin and my cousin’s name is Melvin. We call him Mel so as to avoid confusion. He doesn’t seem to mind though.

I hope that you can begin to understand what happened to us as you read this journal. You may have some trouble so please do not judge this as my best work. I, Melvin, am writing this under quite a bit of stress.

What kind of stress? Well right now I’m supposed to be taking a shower. I don’t like showers and I never have. I could go a whole month without a shower, and so far it has been three weeks and ten days since I last had one.

Lets back up before we talk about now though, and I promise I will do my best to explain properly.

I'm considering selling the book on my store.

I'll be writing more novels as well.
