Normal Water Cooling can be silent if you pick the stuff though.
Should I do it? Submerge my computer in mineral oil that is.

Yeah, but then I have to buy...
A radiator, CPU water block, GPU waterblock, pump, coolant, and tubing. Then I have to buy a large case so it'll all fit. It gets expensive. And I have no room for a larger full ATX tower. (mine is somewhat small, and is already too big).
Or... I can buy a $50 aquarium, a motherboard mount, whatever I need to rig it onto the aquarium, and mineral oil. Then be done with it.

At first I won't bother for a few weeks until I get a radiator. The high specific heat of mineral oil combined with it being cold in this house should keep it acceptable. I'd imagine it might peak at 60-70c or so without overclocking. It's kinda warm for computers, but it'll take a very long time to reach it.
Obviously I'm not going to get any insane overclocks off of relying on it do dissipate heat on its own. So I plan on hooking up a radiator to the back of it and putting a decent, quiet pump in the oil somewhere. I might even attach fans to the radiator.
Edit: I don't keep my desktop computer on for long periods of time anyway, going a week only running it when I'm actually home won't kill me.
Edit2: My only real concern is wicking. I'll go to the store and look at aquarium designs later on, but as it stands now the only thing that'll stop me from doing this is that damned wicking.

I agree with the Troll. Don't do it.
The only thing you'd have going for you is purely aesthetic. And while I'm all for that, if something messes up internally, you're in a lot of trouble. If you were to do something like that, you'd need a reason to show it off to people. Like going to huge LAN parties or something where a pretty tower makes you look cool. But just for your house, I highly recommend against it.

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
