Anyone pick this up? There was a midnight release at my store, and they had me show up in my armor to advertise. I'll have pics as soon as some people get them to me.
BUT
Halo Universe RTS. Like StarCraft, but... Halo...Craft..?
I haven't even played it yet. I got the collectors edition (dur), but have had absolutely no time to even open the box. Imma play it tonight.
From what I hear, it's the best thing to happen to console RTS in... Ever.

i played it at a friend's house the other day.
it was alright, nothing particularly special about it that i can grasp from about half an hour of playing it.
i read some of the reviews on amazon, both from the us and the uk, and, as expected, it had a bunch of fanboys moaning about how it wasn't an fps, and how they expected an fps when they bought it (so obviously people who buy anything with the word "halo" on it durr)
a good idea on bungie's part, it spilts its fans right down the middle, separating the smarter fans who enjoy other styles of games from the more retarded ones, though that might not be one of bungie's goals when creating it.

Halo Wars is nothing special, in my honest opinion. It sticks to the basics, and does that well, but there isn't enough depth for me. Whenever people mention Starcraft, I point out that the only reason that it lived for as long as it did was the fan-created (blizzard hosted) custom games. Honestly, this was the only reason I played the game for as long as I did. TD was one of my favorites. Anyways, my point is that Bungie (I know they didn't make Halo Wars, just saying) needs to publicly host custom games, not keep them private. What's the point of forge if you can't show your map off to a bunch of people you don't know?
