There once was a man who wandered for much of his life, in search of a place where he might find solace.
He wandered for years until one day, he came across a small abandoned shack amongst a series of other similar shacks.
"This... this will be my home." said the man.

Over time the man got to know the others who lived amongst the shack village, becoming friends with a number of them.
However, one night, a great storm blew through, destroying the man's shack, among others.
Many more people came to help rebuild, and they built the man a nice, quaint house, along with building the others similar houses.
When it was finished, the people that had come to the village to help rebuild settled there, and became friends with the others.

The man had wandered into the forest, sure that his home was gone forever. He sat by a pool of water, sulking.
One of his friends, the closest, he would say, came to retrieve him, telling him of their deed.
"My friend, others have come, and we've built you a most magnificent house! Come see, come see."
So the man joined his friend and walked into town. His friend showed him the building, and the man only sighed.
"My friend, I thank you for taking me, but this simply is not my house, and not my village."
He gestured to those around.
"I do not know these people, and I do not recognize this house."

And so the man left the village and wandered, ocassionally sending letters back to his friends.
One day, as he was wandering near the village, as he liked to stay nearby, hoping he might find his shack, he saw smoke.
The village had grown to a town, and one of the townsfolk had accidentally caused a fire in his house.
The fire spread quickly, burning down many shacks and houses, including the man's house.
The man arrived and helped the others to put out the fire, and then stayed to help others recover.
Many people arrived to give their support, and starting rebuilding the town.

Some of the man's friends shook their heads, and left their original homes.
In their places many new people arrived to help rebuild.
And so the people did rebuild, and they built the old, burned down houses into large, beautiful homes.
The man was helping someone recover her items from her shack before she left the village when his old friend came to retrieve him.
"My friend, others have come, and we've built you a most magnificent house! Come see, come see."
And so the man joined his friend again and arrived at the house, and in seeing it, the man only sighed.
"My friend, I thank you for taking me, but this is simply not my house, and not my town."
He gestured to those left in the town.
"I do not know these people, I do not recognize these buildings, and this is not my house."

So the man wandered again for many years until one day he recieved a letter from his friend.
It seemed that there was a riot and many new people left the town after burning it to the ground.
Those that were left constantly tried to rebuild, but it was never the same as the town that once was.
Feeling for his oldest friends, the man returned to the village, only to see that they all had built themselves beautiful brick houses.
"My friend, the others have gone, but we've rebuilt all our magnificent homes. Come see, come see." said his friend.
And so the man did, and saw that they all had built themselves beautiful brick houses.
"But my friend," said the man, "I do not see one for me."
His friend looked at him plainly and said, "My friend, well, you see, this simply is not your home."

That... Made me borderline sad.
Moral?
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.

Read, read, and read again, that you might find the answer you're looking for.
Amusing what comes to mind when sleeping away the midnight bore.

Moral I get out of it, probably taken too literally: {expletive hax0rd by Cspace} happens and you can't always regain what you've lost. Regardless, consider yourself lucky for having the people who love you. Don't reject what they have to offer you now merely because you miss what you had then. It may be your only chance.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Was that supposed to be a QFT?

Also, I'm not sure if I'm the man or his friend at this point.

EDIT: Believe I'm the man. Hm. I must rectify this situation.

Woah, that's a good story. Don't understand the moral that Phieta said - can you put it in layman's terms?
Won't you stay for brunch?
