If you want to be a part of it, post here. :thumb:
If you just want to help revive it, instead of getting revenge, then still reply. :P

Why revenge? I don't know. I guess we could reclaim Lion's Arch as our other guild hall.

-------------------------------------------

You should be willing to do at least one of the following...

- Partying in semi-active outposts and towns.
- Helping members with missions and/or vanquishing.
- Doing any kind of PvP.

-------------------------------------------

Constant activity isn't necessary. If you just want to sign on now and then, that's fine. Events should be posted on our forums so you'll know when stuff is happening. :thumb:

However, if you are thinking about playing again, now is a great time for it. If you still have missions to finish, titles to gain, or anything else to achieve, you probably want to complete all that before Guild Wars 2 is released.

-------------------------------------------

So now for the big question... How?

First of all, keep in mind that when DoA started, we had the luxury of activity in SeeD to give us a head start. We did not actively recruit in SeeD since 2004, and we did not have to actively recruit much in DoA. We can't go forward maintaining the attitude about recruiting that we've had since then. We got used to maintaining activity, not seeking it. Very few successful guilds started off with that sort of low-impact recruiting (SeeD certainly did not). Only large guilds can realistically recruit by just grouping with other players, because all they have to worry about is balancing recruitment with the rate that members leave.

DoA is not in the same situation as a new guild, because we have some activity, many otherwise inactive members who can sign on for events, and a solid community right here. Many of our members are also very experienced, both in the game, and with regards to guilds in general. We know what we're doing. To get back on track, though, we should spend some time with that new guild mindset. Then we can get back to the more comfortable mindset to stay on the right track. High-impact recruiting, followed by low-impact recruiting.

What would be the best way to accomplish this?

"Be more active": It is not a realistic solution to push members to play more. If it happens, it probably will not last. As a game, members should just play when they want to play. There's no need to make it become work.

Group with players, then recruit them: Most players are already happy in their guilds, and trying this seven players at a time will become rather frustrating for the recruiter. Also, the guild will grow too slowly for new members to want to stay. If they don't see either activity or obvious growth, then they are very likely to disappear.

Stand in an outpost and spam: It sometimes works, but who wants to do that?

Get a party going: Before we could compete directly with other guilds on RS forums, this is what worked the best for SeeD. It would probably work for DoA as well. It probably just takes about three members to make this happen... Yeah, we could stand in a circle and dance or something, but we could also get creative to make a big impact. We could use party items, have contests, and do other stuff to make us seem organized. If we are good, other players will join in, regardless of whether or not they join DoA (remember it happening in SeeD?). That will just make things better, and get more positive attention toward our guild. Players will be much more likely to join a guild doing this, rather than one with a lonely recruiter spamming random towns.

-------------------------------------------

Should we do this? If we want DoA to be active, yes...
We could wait for Guild Wars 2 to come out, hoping that old members will come back and give us a major head start there, but there's no guarantee that that will actually happen. That doesn't help us in Guild Wars 1, and we would be making some dangerous assumptions.

If we try to make DoA active now, on the other hand, we will gain a head start in Guild Wars 2. Not to mention, we will have an active guild in the present.

Members can have the greatest impact when there exists the greatest need. I can't speak for Rylkan's decisions, but you'll probably have a much greater opportunity to become an officer now than if you wait for us to become active again. You can also gain a good reputation, as other members will more easily notice what you do.

So if you want to play some Guild Wars during the break, why not join DoA in its return to activity? Or perhaps its aimless revenge, if you are aligned with the Dark Side? :P

... But please reply! :thumb: Silence implies that either you haven't read this, or that you're not interested. :P

I'm willing to party, and help other members do the same missions I still need to do myself. :P When I find time to get online anyway.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

I don't always have the time to devote to this, and I'm still in another guild. However, I would not be opposed to joining up with you guys for a party, a mission, etc. Just let me know and I'll try my best to be there to help DoA.

A good idea would be to go to Pre-Searing and help out the newbies. That'll hopefully sort our activity out.

This sounds funnn, I literally don't have the time during school, I should be back in the summer to help with this! I decked out my guy's appearance right before I stopped playing last fall (I didn't even get to show it off!).
