Why are we still here, guys?

No, really. I'm not asking just to be a cynic. I just don't get it. I see no community here, no activity, no interaction. This forum is dead, and many of our members aren't even registered here anyway. And whenever I'm online, I'm usually alone (when I'm not alone, the other guildie is usually away macroing Incorrigible Ale-Hound or just ignoring my attempts to converse). Occasionally, when I'm up far too late and about to pass out on my keyboard, I'll see the down under players start to log on --- all, what, four of you? --- but that's the only evidence I see that we're at all a social group.

Are we anything, anymore, other than a bunch of players who happen to share a tag and a cape just because none of us really care for PvP?

What's the point?

Whyfore Defenders of Aderon?
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

I can't speak for the others, but I do get on and try to talk to people, assuming someone is actually on. But even then, we have quite a few people who don't wish to say anything.

As sad as it is, I long ago had the same thoughts. We really don't act as a guild anymore. I am still around because I like the old days where we all played together, those were fun. And since new content is coming out, and GW2 is slowly creeping up, I wanted to maintain the connections here. But so far that seems to be a bust.

I don't really have anything else to add in terms of the whys and how to fixes, but I do want to see some old faces return to the game. Currently I know I am helping Shiz with his HoM. I can extend the same thing to everyone else. We're here to have fun and help each other, if you still have goals in game, just come back and we can all help each other reach them.

It's not like we haven't gone through quiet periods before, although perhaps nothing quite as prolonged as currently. Honestly we're never going to recover to our high points within GW1, too many of our former regulars have run out of interesting goals or lost the free time necessary to play. We're not quite as dead as it might appear, but the activity that remains is fairly isolated across timezones I suspect. Neither do we really have the base level of activity necessary for heavy recruitment. :/

I can't speak for others, but I'm still here because when I am playing these are the people I want to play with. We could probably take some measures to try to focus the activity we have left in a useful direction. We can specify particular time periods within a week when people are likely to be playing, and try to meet up then.

As Rylkan suggests, lets work out what goals we each have so that we can help each other. Ultimately my goal is 40 HoM points, probably 20 max titles as part of that. I hit 30 points a couple of days ago, thanks to some new Elementalist armour. As a quick list, here are the main things I'm planning or hoping to do for that.
* A bunch more hero armour, maybe some prestige pets too
* Faction farming for kurzick armour
* Gem farming for vabbian armour (ugh)
* Asuran and Vanguard title farming
* Probably at least some cartography stuff (double ugh)
* Finish off the Domain of Anguish, and I'd quite like to do the UW
* A whole bunch of Valor weapons, including getting a Tormented weapon
* Some other miscellaneous stuff, like finishing EotN on my Ele

I just did the maths, and I can actually avoid any cartography as long as I get a full set of 11 weapons and finish the DoA. It would mean I miss out on all those Leather-bound books, though.
Anyway there's some stuff there that would be a whole lot more fun with others around, and I'm very happy to help out with anything other people may need. I'm not as experienced as Rylkan, Shiz or Ratty but for a melee fighter I'm not too bad. :P

I agree that we will never be quite as active as before, at least until GW2 comes out. :)

As for helping each other, I can tell you Goto that:

- I have all of my Elonian heroes upgraded. So I can quite easily farm you some armor remnants from Remains of Salajah. Each new character doing that mission gets ~4 remnants quickly. It pans off from there. But I have 2 who have never done it, so I can get you some quick. As for Primeval, I'll get to that in a sec.

- My Rit needs to up her titles in EotN as well, so I can help you get the Vanguard and Asuran points with her.

- My Rit is going for DoA as it is. There is a farming build for Rits there I want to try. So I can do two things. Try and get you some gemstones (I still want to finish off my current set, but after that, you and Shiz can feel free to divy them up). And I can also go with you to beat Mallyx using her.

- Shiz needs to do the UW as well, and I was planning to do it with him soon. Its been made easier with such quests as the Four Horsemen, and those evil ones, so we should be okay with it. You find a time, and we can try to work something out. Only hiccup will be Dhuum, but we can figure that out in advance of going how we want to take that bad boy down.

:) Yay for goals that help others as well.

I have full intention of getting back into GW, just ... Got a major case of cbf at the moment. I have goals, it's just they're now basically things that will take forever, and I just don't have a whole lot of free time anymore :(

I am getting out of GW again until they make a real big update. I may occasionally farm some ecto or do the Nicholas stuff, but I will probably be on FLYFF with my rare video game time. If anyone needs anything, though, just post it here and I'll try and procure it.

Just start the guild back up again when GW2 comes out, I'm sure everyone will be willing to play then, whether they have tons of time or not. GW is just an old/dead game now as is, so its hard to keep active communities going. I remember the peak of our activity was within the first 1-2 years of GW coming out, during Prophecies/Factions, after Nightfall it took a dip.
