Starting now, if you would like to register a new account, you will be required to enter a code on the registration form. This code will be posted in the moderator forum, and can be passed on by private messages and by any means other than posting it in the open. In addition, it can be given through any guild that is supported on CurvedSpace. It will be impossible to register without this code.

Since the vast majority of spam accounts here are registered by humans, this is what currently has to be done.

There will be some returning spammers with previously registered accounts, but if moderators continue to help me with suspending them, they will eventually vanish from CurvedSpace. :thumb:

(Though please don't suspend anyone advertising a gaming clan or guild. They're okay. :P )

Sad that this is necessary, but... meh.

Is it okay to post the code in secure areas outside the forums? Obviously posting it publicly would defeat its purpose, but I don't think spammers will come here by, say, joining a guild and finding the code in the MotD.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

It's okay to post it somewhere else, just not in the open here.

To all the moderators helping to block the spammers, thank you :thumb:
