"I am the bone of my sword.
Steel is my body and fire is my blood.
I have created over thousand blades.
Unaware of loss, Nor aware of gain.
Withstood pain to create many weapons,
Waiting for one's arrival.
I have no regrets, this is the only path.

"See, I think drugs have done some *good* things for us, I really do. And if you don’t believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a Favor: go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your cd’s and burn em’. 'Cause you know what? The musicians who’ve made all that great music that’s enhanced your lives throughout the years...

Hmm... I started when there were 4 worlds, and the unused POHs had just been removed. The Button™ had not been created, and you couldn't see anyone's combat level unless you were in the wildy or did the ladder trick. There was no P2P yet. Anyone with a piece of rune was considered a god, and out of the few people with rune, the best most could afford was legs, square, long, plate (they didn't buy chain, they were saving their money to buy plate after dragon quest), and med. If they had a large, or could prove they had a kite or battle (nobody could smith R2Hs yet), they were either a rune smither, extremely rich, or both (usually both, considering the value of rune...).
The biggest difference was that 99% of the players were nice and 1% mean, not the other way around. Oh, and Andrew and Paul roamed the land a lot more.

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.
