With the amount of information just released about rs2, i am quite surprised by the lack of posts concerning it. Anyways, here is where you can. First off, this is a GIGANTIC change from old. New weapon systems, classes....Who would have thought rs would have come that far. My biggest pleasure is the introduction of mages as a major part of the game. All of a sudden i will transform from a lvl 61 mainly magic and ranged "Impure n00b" one might say, to a powerful entity, one which will give me and others like me a chance to show our magic and ranged worth in this pure-obsessed world. And I invite others to join me, as a new age is coming. A more diverse world is upon us, like it or not, we are forced to face differences, face the fact that brute force isn't always the answer. And i welcome this world, as should all, with open arms, as these changes will not falter anytime soon, if ever. That is my piece.

Wowzers...did i write all that!?!...that LOTR soundtrack really inspires ya, eh? heh-heh

ACK! just noticed the topic already here about this.....oh well

they were talking about how different weapons will have their own purposes, and how JageX wanted to eliminate the high demand for battle axes and 2-handers. maybe now something like the scimitar will be the new most powerful/useful weapon. who knows?

It will be interesting, of this you may be assured, but overall i think it will be a change for the better. I suggest hoarding gp, as i am doing, for the purchase of new items.

I think that the main idea behind the updates is to make it so that there is no one or two "Best" or "Most Powerful" weapons-
That's where the different kinds of attacking come in. (Stab, slash, etc.)

It will force players to think outside the box, expose the weakness of the enemy, rather than taking a sword the size of florida and start hacking wildly. More tactical...just the way i like it

errr...I think what they're doing to the weapons is that they're making them all more equal, not making it so that different ones are invincibly powerful instead of the 2Hs and B Axes...

Aye, but in this, you need to see what is your opponent weak against, stab, slash, or crush, then customize for the best chance of victory. thusly, the tactical part of it comes into play.

it will only be a matter of time until people have mastered it completely, and have no weakness. also, they said that new weapons may be created, so who really knows. we are merely specualting on what may be. i suggest we hold off our opinions of the game until we have actually played it.
