In F2P (Crossbow and shortbow and longbow) which is the better ranged weapon to use. Crossbow has higher damage, but slower reload time. Shortbow..sux. Longbow has longest range, I suppose it reloads faster than the crossbow, but lower damage. Or are the rumors true and does the phoenix crossbow do even more damage? Thx

Distance, from best to worst:

Crossbow (regular AND phoenix)
Wood bow
Members bows, in order going up

Within each category (wood, and members woods) longbow will always have a longer distance than shortbow, but a shortbow of one type will beat a longbow of a lower type.

Damage

Your common max hit is 1 at first, and increases by ranged ability. At 8 it is 2, 15 is 3, etc. Also, you have a rare chance for a critical hit of 1 above your "max hit."

You can add to your max hit this way:
Iron arrows OR crossbow bolts: +1
Steel: +2
Mith: +3
Addy: +4
Rune: +5

Reload times are the same for all bows, and slower for all crossbows. Crossbows and Phoenix Crossbows are the same except their name.

Hope this helps.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Just out of interest, where did you get your information from.
I've seen a lot of speculation over ranged attacks over the last 2 years or so, and always seen at least 2 opinions about everything. Still, that does look just about right.
