Dum dee dum ... I just got the game and haven't played it yet. Anyone know much of anything about it? I'm not all that familiar with the Fire Emblem series, other than the experience I have with Roy and Marth in SSBM ... is this game a remake of one of the older ones or an entirely new game? I'm completely clueless to most of this now, but I thought I'd start up a topic asking around for stuff in general -- recommendations, etc. Post away, eh?

From what I've seen thusfar in the game, Roy and Marth have nothing whatsoever to do with this installment to the Fire Emblem series.

Well, I think there was another Fire Emblem remake for GBA that never made it to the US, and that this is a completely different one ... (shrug ) ... I dunno. But Roy and Marth aren't in this one.

Marth is indeed the main character of one of the games, but I think, like many other series, the Fire Emblem series contains a completely different cast with each game. While some series, such as Breath of Fire and Zelda, contain a reincarnated main character in many different forms, I don't think the Roy and Marth we so greatly anticipated have anything to do with all except one of the games of the series.
On another note altogether, some of the Fire Emblem music that appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee DOES show up in this game, which means that either that particular theme is not specific to a certain installment of the series, or it does not originate from the same game as Roy and Marth...
Yeah.

Okay, I finished the part of the game with Lyndis as the main character ... that part of the game was pretty much just a long tutorial, really, up until the last battle of it. I've started the other main character's part of the story. I can't remember his name right now, but I started his part. There might be another part after his, I dunno. Stay tuned, I'll have more updates as I keep rushing through the game.

Story seems good, gameplay is getting better now that it isn't just a big tutorial. Should be pretty easy to find, I hadn't reserved a copy or anything when I got it, and they just had it. (shrug) I'll post a review when I finish the game.
