As Runescape nears the greatly anticipated 3D update (tomorrow on P2P, or so they say), SeeD will need to be restructured. Our rank system, community, and many more aspects will remain the same, though our tactics will need to change rapidly. As SeeD nears the climax of the "new era of our history", we will begin to eliminate scammers and rulebreakers on a much larger scale. For over a year there has been talk of us emerging as the "Peacekeepers of Runescape", and now more than ever we are capable of actually achieving our goal.

There are no other clans, ever existent in the world of Runescape, who are capable of truly making a difference in this aspect of the game. While this is a relatively new movement for us, SeeD is the only force who can take on such a foe as the entire existence of rulebreakers. WE ARE THE ONES WHO MUST MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!

If you are a skeptic of this idea, take this into consideration:

------------------------------------------------------

Recently with the implementation of SeeD Emblems, there has been a slight incentive to catch rulebreakers. In the period of a few weeks, many rulebreakers have been busted by a few members, with screenshots to prove it (in the Emblem claim forum). If we get 100 members of our total of 800 to be just as active in this endeavor, think of the numbers which will be eliminated.

So that may make a small dent in the number of rulebreakers, right? Now, along with this, what if those 100 got their friends who are not in SeeD to help us? While they may or may not join our clan, they could total 200 if the original 100 only had two friends each, and that is a little hard to believe (and if true, a little sad if you'd ask me). Even if they don't post their results, many rulebreakers will fall. This could also begin a chain reaction where each of them could ask their friends to help, and this aspect will cause our support to grow exponentially. With the original 200 helping us alone, imagine the impact which could be made in comparison to now.

Ok, so now we have a bunch of players randomly stopping rulebreakers everywhere, and that would be great TheSmile.gif . It is not an organized movement yet, and still we will not actually be doing much to the big picture. Therefore, a network of SeeDs and friends will not be enough. What we need is structure, and structure we shall have! Many of our leaders have discussed a Great Alliance: A network of clans of all types (excluding 'destroy them all' clans and obviously rulebreaking clans) will join in this force. PKing clans will provide the alliance's main military force, specialized clans (fishing clans, mining clans, etc.) can provide equipment, fan-based clans (created by RS "celebrities" or based entirely on movies, books, or other video games) can be at the front of the alliance's promotion, and "everything" clans (like ours) can provide... well... anything that we lack! While this is an alliance, the clans will not be bound to each other's interests other than to stop rulebreakers. Therefore they can conduct themselves as they have been previously, though they will contribute to our cause as well.

Now if everyone who initially joins our cause (SeeDs and friends) contacts clans of which they know members, we will be off to a great start. When we get this started I will contact the webmasters of various tip sites and communities and see if we can have direct support from them (no one is to contact them without me knowing first). The next thing we know, we will have many clans join our cause to assist with the end of rulebreaking. Now we are likely to have at least a few thousand players pursuing this goal, and if each clan provides incentives, almost all would be active. If we continue the alliance's growth, we would have, on average, a member in every town on every server at any time when players are normally on. Farfetched? Maybe a little, though with these numbers it would be common to see them while wandering around a little. I will provide more details involving the alliance at a later date.

With this support, our cause will be spread all over Runescape and it will become difficult for rulebreakers to get away. If we can locate rulebreaker websites, blacklist known rulebreakers, and report all necessary to Jagex, we will probably make a real difference in the game.

------------------------------------------------------

So, why do this? There are many players who report rulebreakers already, you may be thinking. Well, I hate the concept of hacking and scamming players, taking away what they spent weeks, months, or even years to perfect. If SeeD can help bring about an end to this (as much as possible), I believe that we would have fulfilled all the goals which we have had.

Anyway, with the implementation of the new battle system, we can provide ourselves with a distinct tactical advantage if we can master the new system before others. With experience in EverQuest, a game which has a very similar system, I can provide many aspects to our current tactics which would benefit us. This will not be enough though because it is not the same game, and it has evolved differently. While other players may have similar ideas, most will be affected by the previous aspects of "old Runescape tactics". We can harness tactics from EverQuest, others' weaknesses involving engineering old tactics to fit the new game, and our clan's own ingenuity to provide ourselves with an entirely new and superior basis for wilderness tactics. This will help eliminate single players on our wanted list, as well as help if thrown into a war like we almost have been with a 'destroy them all' clan.

I will be opening a new forum upon Runescape 2's launch (beta), where members can post their own ideas involving tactics. This can involve regular PKing, ideas for war situations, ideas for skills and equipment production (if changes are made), and anything else. Your input will be essential with providing us with a new and original tactical system (which obviously won't be posted, but used if required).

We are not entirely sure of everything which will be changed, and I will urge everyone to be flexible during the next few months and not bind yourselves to the old system's tactics and structures ('pure' supremacy, wilderness levels, judgement of strength, escaping combat, etc.). This will be essential to your success, and not only will it provide you with improved safety, but more fruitful PKing ( grnwink.gif ).

If we are going to advance though, we must forget past grudges. With the exception of new and revived conflicts we are stronger than ever, and I am sure that we will grow stronger during the next few months (and much longer). I know that I have told of our "greatest moment" many times previously, though now is the time where our ability to adapt will be tested. If we remain as strong as we are now, we will be propelled into a new age upon the final release of RS2 much more quickly than expected. Expect many old members to return, many current members to become more active, and many active members to enjoy the clan much more than ever previously. Only then will we truly be upon our "greatest moment".

Now is the time to which our past two years have led us... Now is the time of our greatest strength... Now is the time of our greatest advancement... Now is our chance to fulfill every goal which we have had since our beginning!

Spread the word throughout the clan, get active members back in our community, advertise our cause to others within and outside of SeeD, and help bring back the unity which we have experienced in our past and have longed for for so long!

Thank you TheSmile.gif

Wow Cspace.

This alliance though.. it would monotonize Runescape's clannish ways. I like the variety of not knowing what's out there.

but as for the rulebreaking.. I think that I'm sort of destined to do this, seeinga s I was destroying rulebreakers in my dream.

Simply inspirational, Cspace. Your alliance idea has real possibilities, if we can convince enough other clans that this is worthwhile, we can make a real difference to the game that has given us so much...

A short while ago I suggested a SeeD database of equipment and monster weaknesses under the new system, to be collected and put together for the benefit of us all. I guess this would come under tactics, so I suggest a sub-forum in this Rs2 tactics forum purely devoted to analysing how best to take down other players and monsters using different weapon and armour types.

I agree with this also and will help in any way I can. Rulebreaking must stop. It's ridiculous at how many players are hacked and scammed. And for what? The player just gets items instantly and doesn't get to enjoy the experience of putting time and work into attaining them the right way. And the victim loses items, maybe event a character. Also, a lot of their time is wasted. They could lose hours, day, months, or years of work.

I belive SeeD is will be one of the most experienced clans in Runescape since we're already strong and the new beta has been released. We'll have devised great tactics soon with members working hard on them. With the support of other clans and famous Runescape sites promoting us, we're sure to make an impact on Runescape.

We still have to be ready for anything. Think if most of the rulebreakers/hackers target SeeD because of what we plan to do. Yet with the forces we'll have. . .the power of the Great Alliance, we'll almost be impregnable.

I hope for this to be a great success and I'll help as best as I can. Maybe soon I'll create a Runescape related website that will promote SeeD and the formation of the Great Alliance. It may just be part of a large website that I plan on creating.

Good luck everyone! grnwink.gif
