The Rules

"SeeD Rules!" - A particular Runescape guild's highly imaginative victory cheer.

  General Rules

Insults & Flaming - The moderators will not intervene unless it derails a discussion or becomes way too excessive. You should worry more about your reputation, but excessive flaming can get a member suspended for a few days. A disagreement between members is not really our problem, but it is when it affects those not otherwise involved.

Profanity - Don't bypass the filter. A moderator can raise your warning level if you work around the filter too often.

Obscene Content - Posting obscene content such as pornography is likely to get you banned without warning. Posting links to it may result in the same consequence.

Hacking - If you knowingly link to a site that will infect or damage a person's computer, you will be banned. If you in any way purposely damage our site, you will be banned. No warning will be given.

Advertising - On your blog, go ahead and advertise your site. You can also advertise a clan or guild in the Clan Advertising forum. Advertising anywhere else is likely to be deleted. If you register only to advertise, and you do so very excessively, we will assume you are a bot and will ban your IP address.

Spamming - We are very lenient about spamming because we do not want to discourage posting. A short post is not necessarily spam, and defining it requires some judgment. With many moderators using their own individual judgment about spam, the moderator team as a whole can easily become too harsh. If you want to post something but you don't have much to say, then post it anyway! A short or unrelated post here and there won't hurt anyone. In the Insanity Board you're required to spam, so if you just want to spam, then go ahead and spam it like an angry Wookiee! If spam gets too bad elsewhere, it'll probably just be moved to the Insanity Board, so it's nothing to worry about unless you're trying to cause trouble.

Exploits - If you are caught cheating in one of our multiplayer games, or find a workaround for something else on CurvedSpace, then expect an administrator to undo whatever you did. If you do that post-then-delete thing to raise your post count, what you're really doing is moving all those posts to a trash forum (working as intended). Pages of deleted posts by the same member will get an administrator's attention very easily, so don't even try that exploit. =P

Topic Revivals - In general, if you want to reply to a long-dead topic, you're usually better off just posting a new one. That said... If you really want to reply to one, even as a joke, feel free to do it. The moderators will not do anything unless it happens frequently, in which case they would probably just split the topic. As with spam, don't fear this! Oh, and any topics linked from those "Discuss This Page!" links are never considered "dead". If you have something to say, even if one of those topics is 10 years old, just say it. =D
