Hmm I guess I'll offer those invitational factions keys thing. We can invite up to three people to have a trial of the GW factions event on March 24. I dont know who to invite so I still have 3 invites if you want one. (or anyone else who might want one)

I'm just going to elaborate with a little more information.

The expansion 'Factions' is actually a seperate game, you don't need to own the original Guild Wars to play it. Guild wars and Factions each have their own areas, quests, missions, etc.
If you have both, then you can take your characters between both sets of places, so one character can play in either Tyria (current guild wars continent) or Cantha (the new area being added with Factions). Oh, and people with either game can all meet up at the Battle Isles, which is where most of the PvP is held as well as where our Guild Hall is. That's our own private island to hang out on.

My advice is probably to get both parts, that way you get everything. Or you could wait until after the preview event to see if you like the game, and work out whether or not you're going to buy it after that.

So, if we were only able to start off with one, would you recommend waiting for the new expansion and get that first?

A free trial would be cool, since it's hard to tell what the gameplay is like from all the sites I've been looking through. bluetongue.gif

Let me rephrase my question: Which one will SeeD be more active in? bluetongue.gif It seems to be all about with playing with others, and I'd of course like to be hangin' around with da' SeeDs.

Well Factions won't be released for another two months. When that's released at least at first there will probably be a lot more activity in Cantha, the continent in Factions. But assuming most people are going to be linking up their accounts, that isn't going to matter too much, since they can easily swap back and forth between continents at the click of a button. Basically there are likely to be lots of people happy to help you and hang out no matter which you choose, and even if you have only one game and someone has only the other, you can still PvP together, or hang out in our Guild Hall.

If you don't want to wait until April 28th or whatever the release of Factions was, go with regular Guild Wars. There will be plenty to keep you entertained. Factions would be a fine choice too, although we haven't actually played it yet, it looks like it'll be good. bluetongue.gif
The only thing I'd say to watch out for is if you get Factions... If some people decide not to get it that you want to play with, you'll only really be able to hang out in our guild hall, you won't be able to do missions together. Ultimately getting both games is probably for the best, but I can understand you don't really want to buy both at once and risk getting bored of the game. Hope you do decide to get it though, it'd be great to have you in there, we have a really friendly group of people already. TheSmile.gif

Mmm, the release is nearly close to my B-Day, maybe I'll be able to persuade for an early present. bluetongue.gif Oi, another general question: Does Factions have everything the original GW has? Still confused. >_<

EDIT: Heh, better question: If others that had GW get Factions as well, will they be able to join me in everything GW has? I saw something about trvaeling 'by boat' between each of the continents, so I'm guessing so. An if it is so, I might just get the first GW.

Players with regular GW can play in the first continent plus the PvP areas and guild halls; Players with Factions can play in the second continent plus PvP areas and guild halls; Players with both can mix and match any character, skill, job class, etc from both and be able to visit both continents and play on PvP and visit guild hall.

This means that buying Factions doesn't include the original GW. (Although they will probably sell some bundled GW and Factions when it comes out... I bet!) But yes, you can still meet in between for PvP and guild hall meetings...
