She had a stroke on Christmas Eve, shes now in hospital. I haven't been on here much because I've been working, or at the hospital. At the start, she couldn't talk, or move the right side of her body, but now she can roll over by herself. TheSmile.gif

She can talk now, but mainly just one syllable words. Anything longer, and she can't say it properly. She understands what we say, and she knows what she's trying to say, but she can't get it out. It's really frustrating for her, and she's only 81 sad.gif

She can't write either, it comes out just a big mess of scribbles.

Dont let them keep switching doctors with you...thats what they do with the elderly. you goto put a chain on one doc. and tie his/her arse to the bed side practicaly....keep tabs on the doctors and dont stop letting up on them. I have had four freinds whos grandma or grandpa died becuase each doctor kept passing the case along. If it cant be helped much make sure that every doctor you havnt seen before knows everything the last one knew.

...its good that she can roll herself now(keeps the blood from pooling) though.

0.0 gawrsh...

My gramma had a stroke about a year ago, for a while it was hard for her to talk, or get names right. But now she regularly enjoys doing crossword puzzles. She's recovered wonderfully, and is still in remarkably great shape.

But you're right, chain a doc to the bed. Don't let some stupid doctor be the reason for her death. Make some smart doctor the reason for her survival.

There's hope! A great hope, especially if she can roll herself over. It may seem scary, but don't lose hope.

Oh man, that's horrible... sad.gif I could never imagine something like that happen to anyone I know, least of all my grandparents... Really glad to know you care that much for them, Matt. Hang in there, and I'm sure she'll get better. Remember - every cloud has a silver lining. TheSmile.gif

She found her silver lining TheSmile.gif Talking properly now, but three syllable words and things like that give her a bit of trouble.

Glad she's getting better, my grandad collapsed on Christmas day this year, he was in the air conditioning all day and had no water (air conditioners draw water from your body).
