I did a really quick check of the forums we have, and I noticed we didn't have anything about anime here. Sure, it falls under the domain of the ambiguous "Media" forum, but that seems to be entirely dominated by music. Perhaps a new forum for anime should be introduced? I bet Stuffy would like that!

Don't you like anime? It's really good, you should give it a chance. Not all of them are good, though... but some of them I absolutely love! Some of the best programming on TV is anime.

As I've said, I used to hate anime simply because it was anime... yeah, I was turned off by Pokémon/ Digimon/ Yu-Gi-Oh!. But then I found Fullmetal Alchemist, and my opinion has changed. I'm hooked. I have all 51 episodes with subtitles, and I've watched the first half of the series (the second half hasn't aired yet in the West, so I'm going to wait and watch it at the same time as everyone else). What other good shows am I missing?

Any of you who haven't seen FMA... you should. Google has episode 1 dubbed and episode 2 fansubbed if you'd like a preview. Or on [adult swim], the series is starting over on July 12th -- actually the 13th, since it's after midnight. It's on Monday through Wednesday (or Tue-Thu) at 1 AM (Pacific and apparently Eastern -- dunno other places) with an encore three hours later.

Redhound: "Anime" is usually applied to Japanese animation, or at least the style associated with it. I'd call Family Guy and Futurama "cartoons"

Im not into Anime much, The only Anime ive watched is FMA (yuuup, all 51 ep's ) and i thought it was great

Sounds like a good idea to me. It's true that too many extra forums isn't a good idea, but there's enough anime fans here to make it worthwhile I think.

I'm not a hugely hardcore fan of anime, but I've seen quite a few. FMA is probably my favourite (Rat probably would never have bothered to see it if not for me, hehe), seen some other ones I like though.

Hmm... Phi, trying to think of some you might quite like. Martian Successor Nadesico was pretty good, it's a sci-fi one with spaceships, giant robots and so forth, but it's also pretty funny a lot of the time. I've recently started watching some Full Metal Panic, and I really like what I'm seeing so far. Neon Genesis Evangelion is a pretty big one of course, although it got a bit weird towards the end.
Trigun was another funny one, it's the only 'wild west' style anime I can think of that I've seen around, hehe. I guess I'll think up some others later, there are a lot of good ones out there.
Oh, and the .Hack series in general is pretty good. Especially since almost the entire thing happens within a mmorpg, hehe.

While I do like anime, the idea of a anime forum doesn't appeal to me. There are a lot of forums which do not see activity for months on over either because the forum is too narrow for discussion or because the topic itself is not that popular.

I think there are enough of us that are obsessed with Anime to keep it active, or at least semi-active. The funny thing is, though, that almost everyone I think should mod it is already a supermod. *Looks at list of people who have replied* Let Kimo mod.

whith as many anime fans as there r here the forum would probably work. although i dont watch it too much. the only ones i watch are inuyasha )b/c it started over & now i kno what the hell is going on ) , trigun occasionally... lupin i(f i cant go to sleep), and thats about all of it
