Yes RuneScape has finally started to lose money. The reason I know all of this is because...

THEY DIDN'T HAVE AN UPDATE 2DAY!

yep... lets see...

membership fee = 5 dollars

members ... ill say 600,000

5 x 600,000 = 3,000,000

i doubt it costs 3million dollars to run and update a little low graphics java game

For a company 3-6 million isnt alot but yeah way more then enough to run the game.

Actually 500,000-501,000 paying members, but yeah. Still a good MONTHLY income.

they normaly update "tomorow" (tues where i live) and secondly, the day after christmas is usualy a day off at a LOT of companys.

theyre milking a java based very low graphics rpg for all it's worth... they could reduce the membership to $1 and make money

I dunno. If they did, a vast number of idiots would buy members, and all the senior players would quit because of that. It'd balance itself out.

100 morons get members for 1$ per player.
100 good members quit for that reason, making jagex lose 1$ per player.

And I mean LOW graphics. For a true dev team, upgrading those would probably take about a year. It took em 13.
