As promised, I've decided to go ahead with my idea of a set of DoA awards. Basically voting will be held for each category, and the winners will get immortal glory and whatever prizes I or others can put together. A lot of the following is open to suggestions or debate, so if you disagree or there's an improvement you'd really like to see, post and I'll certainly consider it.


Award Categories:

- Best Farmer
- Best Runner
- Most Creative Build Creator
- Worst Insomniac
- Eternal Newbie
- Best Outfit
- Biggest Lagger
- Most Fun Guildie to Party With
- Most Generous/Helpful Guildie


As I said, there's room for change in the list. I think the best idea is to leave a little time for suggestions and discussion, then get people to nominate themselves or others. Then there will be time for some campaigning, I'll set aside some (temporarily pinned?) topics for people to say why they should win, and ideally people will put stuff in their sigs about it. Sometime during that period I'll post a template for voting, which people can fill in and PM to me. After the votes are all in we can hopefully organize an event to present all of the awards and prizes, I think that'd be more fun than just announcing them on the board. Additionally there's one or two cases in which non-DoAs could probably take part. I'd like to base the Best Outfit award on our armour gallery, and it's certainly feasible for non-GW Arbiters to vote on who they think looks the best, as long as you guys don't mind that one being a bit broader.

I think it would be most fair if I abstain from actually taking part as a candidate (in all other than the outfit award perhaps, since that doesn't involve campaigning as such), but I'll put my votes in. I'll just have to vote before I view the votes of anyone else, so that I'm not biased by anybody elses choices.

Also I just want to make it clear that this is intended as a bit of fun, and shouldn't be taken too seriously. I don't want to see anyone getting upset if they don't win, you're all really great people and I'm glad to have every single one of you in the guild.

With that said, let the GWENies begin.

You can put yourself down for awards, it's not like someone else needs to nominate you. And if someone nominates you but you really don't want to take part, it's not like you're forced to do that either. I figured it was better to do it this way because if everyone has their name down for everything then it'd be more confusing who to vote for, for each. By keeping it limited to people that are interested in trying for an award or who others specifically want to win an award, we should be able to simplify things down to the important stuff.

Don't get too carried away with putting yourself down for stuff, right now I'm mostly interested in if anyone has anything to suggest.

Also they're based on the member as a whole, not a particular character. So something like the 'best farmer' isn't based on who has the best single build for farming, but rather who farms a lot and is particularly experienced at it. Similarly if the best outfit is based on the armour gallery, people can choose whether to vote based on a particular outfit they like a lot, or base it on a slightly more broad trend for cool looking characters.
