'Color of Wet Mud!' Oreos Invade England

(4 Pages, too big for quote)

Hehe. I found this article rather charming in its own right. Especially the alarmists who insist that Americans are attempting to change their beloved biscuits for an inferior product. S'cute grnwacko.gif I think I can understand though... aren't those biscuits normally made with butter/butter cookies? Oreos are Way different than butter cookies.

It made me think: Do you remember your first oreo? How did you eat it? twist then eat, dunking, ate it like a regular cookie, etc.

I don't exactly remember my first oreo, but my mom has pictures of it biglaugh.gif Looked like 25% of the cookie made it to my mouth and the rest landed all over my face. I looked happy at least. I assume I dunked too, had a little glass of milk next to me.

And to our friends in England: Is there really that much hype? Are you going to try it? Will you use *gasp* milk to dunk?

""OK, I get it," she says, finally. "I can see the attraction. It's very sweet." Suddenly she seems to change her mind. "Actually it's too sweet ... it's becoming mushy," she says, alarmed as tentative chewing becomes frantic munching to wolf the cookie down."

HAHAHA... British bluetongue.gif

Why don't they start importing goldfish crackers over there as well?

Oreos are good, but fatty. I like the reduced-fat ones. They taste like graham crackers with icing MSN1_62.gif .

Seeing as I go to America every summer when I saw them in a shop I thought nothing of it.

Didn't even know they were new over here..

... British people seem rather crazy in that article XD

But really. Why does it matter if Oreos require a different way of eating than they're used to? bluetongue.gif It's not like you even -have- to dunk it in anything. I never put Oreos in milk XD Except for sometimes. But they're all acting like "WOMG MILK NOT TEA?! BLASPHEMY!!!!"

Omfg! I read a similiar article a few weeks ago here.

Lmao. I felt like killing him. Infact I went into the cupboard, got some oreos and ate them, making sure I rubbed the crumbs into the picture of his face. Seriously.

Oreos are becoming a huge thing in England lmao, at dinner me and my friends go across the shop to buy a pack everyday hehe. Yummy.

Death to Oreo haters XD

The "Sweet" version is a Scone in America and the "Savory" ones are Biscuits

And for the Cookie, British ruined the word which is from dutch origin koekje or (informal) koekie which means little cake, our's is atleast -somewhat- similar and easier to say. So Britain fails, the end.
