This is the end, my friends.

This is the bitter end.
For more than three years there have been some varied attempts to bind together and bring this site back from the brink. None of us want this site to end. I joined this site literally over half my life ago. I agree with Snowy -- "I don't want this to become just another piece of nostalgia." But we're at that point now. We've all grown up, we all have lives, we don't all have the time to check this forum and weigh in on discussions about games, or myriad other subjects, and in general just a lot of fun silly nonsense any more. Many of us keep coming back, from time to time. But I know that the times I pop back in are becoming less frequent, and I'm seeing that in others too. Last One to Post Wins, which for several years after the rest of the site had died managed itself to remain active, is even dead now; it's been won, what, three times in recent months?
Many of us keep coming back, and it's because, even if we've lost all of our other reasons for coming here, none of us want the community itself to die. I've kept two good friends from this site in semi-regular contact, and have some three or so others on my Facebook, but past those five, I don't have contact with basically anyone... I'm gonna put my contact details in the group PM that's been going on for the last couple years. There are many, many of you I would like to have some connection with still, and I encourage other people who feel the same to do the same in that group PM (if any of you old members who have not been added to said PM return and would like to be added so they can hopefully get in contact with some people, feel free to say so in this thread and uh, maybe someone will see and add you). I hope in this way some of the friendships and relationships I made in the ten years I've been a member of this site can be preserved.
For those of us for whom this site was part of our lives, Curvedspace will never truly die, and its legacy will never be extinguished. But I think it's time we all admit that the chapter of our lives in which it played a part is over, and it's time for us to move on.
Goodbye, Curvedspace, and goodbye, SeeD. I'll miss you. :')
Love you guys.

I've moved this to General Discussion so that Cspace's new topics are more visible from the board index. I didn't expect my post to prompt anyone starting up anything new xD
Zolon... I only followed you with the intent of one day overthrowing you There can be only one

See, I dunno. I'm always going to find a way to check back here. I think we all will at some time or another. Whether the entire community starts to really flourish again or not, each one of us has a history here that I'd almost bet made up some pretty focal points of our young innocent lives at the hands of the internet.
Most of you guys know my Facebook
but if any of you tumblr, look up "Omniferous-one"
And past that, Resian.6307 in ol' GW2.
I second Darky's comment.
I love you guys, too.

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.

You gonna hold onto that handle for awhile, Mike? I've subscribed to your RSS a couple times but you kept changing your name and disappearing. Guess that's what I get for not Tumblng myself.
And I love y'all, too.
Haven't said that nearly enough in all my years here. But I do, and you guys will always hold a special place in my heart.
And in my warped mind. Thanks for all the shaping.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Those Cspace thumb ups always keep me going
"Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."

What has everyone been up to?, I'd love to get in touch with some people if anyone's still around these days.
