Okay, so I am a cheap {expletive run over by Cspace}, but you probably already knew that about me anyway. For my birthday, I want a new game, and I don't like shelling out 60 bucks on a whim. So I ask of you, which of these is better for my needs?
- I plan on using it for local co-op (a.k.a. not online. If it turns out to be online only... I will kill you. I want to play with my friends as much as possible.)
- I want the appeal to last. COD4 lasted me a year. That's the kinda satisfaction I need.
- Good controls/graphics/plot. Nobody likes a {expletive hax0rd by Cspace}ty game.
- FUN. Yeah. I said it.

L4D isnt even out yet atm, the demo is though
My friends say the demo is fun, but the graphics arnt anywhere near as good as GoW2

I know it comes out on the 16th. I have the demo, and I got to say, simply amazing. Scared the ever living {expletive hax0rd by Cspace} out of me, and it feels great. Gotta try out GoW2 though....

I know Left 4 Dead is awesomely amazing and the like, but there's only so much one can tell from a demo.
I have no doubt it'll be fun when it comes out, but my suggestion would have to lean towards Gears 2.
If you liked Gears 1, my suggestion only raises. The storyline pushes even further, with new things you WISHED you had in G1. The campaign is incredible solo, and even greater multiplayer co-op, and that's before taking matchmaking into account. The Horde feature is by far one of the coolest things I have ever played (5 player co-op game that can last hours.)

Your basically trying to compare a cartoon to a beheading video, they are completely different games.
But I would go for GOW2, it will last a lot longer.

If you still havnt decided (I doubt), I played L4D for the past about week. It is pretty boring. Simple zombie killing game with decent graphics. And unless you have 4 controllers (I think it supports 4 player spilt screen co op) or XBL I wouldnt recommend getting it at all.
