One very good way to get friends is get a messenger and add a few people and get to know them better then ask them to be your friends

There is no such thing as "ask people to be friends", it doesn't work. Friends isn't something you can just become like that. People become friends when they've known each other for some time, without anyone even mentioning the word "friend".
