Its going to pummel down on New Orleans, the city which is below sea level, so major flooding. It'll come ashore as a Category 5, this is crazy.

It has been compared to Hurricane Andrew. We'll see soon enough. I know that we'll be getting some major rain and wind on Wednesday though bluetongue.gif .

I guess we should hope for the best... and at least they have a stadium to go to for shelter if they can't leave the city. icon_sweatdrop.gif

I've heard this many times before on the weather channel... If the storm surge (pretty much how high the ocean water gets from the storm) is above something like 25 feet, then they're toast.

Yeah, sort of. From what I've heard there's at least 1-2 feet of water in some places, it even tore holes in the Superdome roof...

Some places got 10-15 feet of water, The eastern side of new orleans got so messed up it looks like it got bombed.

Today in second hour we basically watched the news the whol time, and it was live and we could hear someone screaming "help". :'( It was so sad.

Strangely enough, it could have been much worse, if the hurricane landed 30-40 miles west, making New Orleans uninhabitable for months.
