I have been thinking for about a month now about how I want my Guild Wars playing environment and experience to be like. I have been very happy and enjoyed every minute being a member of DoA. I'm sure most people think the same in return. But, I wish to go in a different direction. The Defenders of Aderon are not going in the direction I envision as ideal. A few weeks ago, I discussed with Jonny how I would see DoA as the ideal guild for myself and others (most of which have moved on from the guild). He listened to me, and we both agreed it would take something of a movement to do so. But, I feel that the policies of SeeD (which I do not dispute) conflict with the way I want to approach my goals. Bascially, the way the leaders of DoA see things on how the guild should move forward is different than the way I think it should move forward.
I am of a different "breed" of gamers than most of the members of DoA are

I have begun an experiment of sorts. Hing and I have established a new guild, Di Immortales [DI]. (It means "The Immortal Gods" in Latin

I want to make a close-knit guild of friends that are active farmers and/or PvPers. I would like to see a guild list with enough online players to go farming with guildies rather than with PuGs. I want enough online players to GvG and do Hero's Ascent frequently. Currently, DoA is not able to do that. Now, this is the plan for my ideal guild. It will not be easy, I'm sure, but that is why it is an experiment. This is to see if I can do it. Therefore, there are two scenarios that could happen.
In the first scenario, DI will be a strong, ideal guild of farming/PvPing friends. It will have a fun, close-knit DoA-like atmosphere, but with plenty of willing, like-minded individuals. I have every intention of having DoA and DI be sister guilds. I would have it no other way. I want to keep in contact and allow us all to have fun, that is why I waited for Factions to be released to do this. An Alliance would allow us to be together and enjoy ourselves

In the second scenario, DI will fail. I will not be able to have a committed, ideal guild as I wish. In this case, I will most likely abandon the guild and return to Defenders of Aderon.
You also may be wondering how I'm going to have an ideal guild. The way I will make this ideal guild conflicts with the tradition of SeeD. That is why I did not try to do this with DoA. DI will only accept applications. DI will not be free-clanning like SeeD and DoA is. The officers and myself will choose who makes it into the guild and who does not by asking those who want to join to submit an application. This is the only way I know to shape the guild the way so we can all enjoy it.
I hope this venture is a win-win situation for all of us. Wish us luck, and we know where home is if worst comes to worst
