What Should You Accomplish Before Starting A Guild?

I just thought that maybe this would be a good discussion. In most games, what should a player accomplish before starting a new guild?

This could include in-game accomplishments as well as personal preparations.

Preferably the player should be finished or nearly finished with the game. In a shooter or the like, a player should possess a high rank or have a lot of kills and experience. In some "grinding" games like World of Warcraft, one should be at least half of the highest level attainable.

Internally, one should be ready to spend long hours playing, be prepared for frustration, and keep a good demeanor while in-game.

Well i know that in Mu online you need to be a minimum lvl 100 to run a guild. dont start a guild and recruit new players get your mates to join so they can help you, and dont be a dictator! in my personal opinion. you dont need heaps of game time all you need is a good mangement plan. If you want a hand starting a guild or faction in a game let me know more details will be placed some where soon.

Level should not affect you starting a guild. You for one should be a kind person and naturally know how to lead other people without being a loving arsehead.

Yes in other games you may not need to be a certain level before you can start a guild, so i guess i could rephrase what i said, Make sure you have completed In-game requirements eg. Lvl needed..... before attempting to create a guild.

Basics of Starting a guild is common-sense, manners and in-game knowledge as well as a group of friends to help get your member base up in my opinion.....

A good thing to have is a at least a friend or two to start the guild with, either as co leaders, or with them having the second highest rank. It's difficult and more risky to start a guild by yourself, so it's great to have those friends there to support you and help through the processes. Knowledge of the game is definitely required. You don't need to be an absolute god, but you still need to be capable of helping your members out.

As far as organization is concerned, it's good to have some basic ranks w/names worked out beforehand, along with what they entail (duties), and how you can work your way up to them. Keep it basic though. There's no reason to create an extremely complicated system when you're just starting out and don't even have people to fill out these roles. Just start basic, and you can build on from there if things work out.

Lastly, make sure that you're going to have time for your guild. Being a leader requires commitment of effort and time. If new members aren't seeing activity on your part, they'll get bored and leave.
