Nintendo in my opinion is the king of handhelds and has spent many years at the top. Other hendhelds have come in but none have been givin a secound thought. Nintendo will rule forever but wait whats this, big household name sony is bringing out a handheld eek4.gif ! This can not be ignored this is a threat! But all said at doneat the end of the day everyone knows that the DS is going to be better, deep down. The only problem is the ps2 vastly out-sold the gamecube and the sony are like the top company and Nintendos in the past. I mean that won't even give it a chance and if the PSP out sells the DS by a lot then surely Nintendo's confidence will fall and they will make secound rate machines. The DS rules and people have to realise that with its snazzy touch screen and voice reconigtion. It even has bluetooth so you can use pictochat to talk to your mates with it. You wont be wasting money on battery's every 2 hours, and of course it has a slot for your beloved GBA games. The DS games will be in discs and great names like metroid and mario are going to be there. So please don't think PSP bound to be well better than the DS! Go for the handheld with experience, thats right grab a DS and join the fun. arcadefreak.gif

and now for the other side of the argument from mv taylor please read before ya vote.

from some sony man

The device in the top right corner is the PSP Universal Media Disc (UMD), a DVD-like dual-layer medium offering 1.8GB of storage. UMD comes with DVD-style region coding and copy-protection mechanism based on the Advanced Encryption System (AES). Each disc has a unique ID number too.

Sony has already said that the PSP will be powered by a 90nm processor built from a MIPS 32-bit R4000 core. The chip will feature a SIMD vector processing engine along the lines of Intel's SSE 2 and PowerPC's AltiVec. It will feature 8MB of embedded memory clocked to 333MHz and operating at 1.2V. The memory bandwidth is quoted as 2.6GBps.

A second MIPS R4000 core will be used as the basis for the PSP's media engine, with 2MB of embedded DRAM, and again fabbed at 90nm.

Alongside these two chips will sit two dedicated graphics processors, one for high-level graphics manipulation, the other for the raw pixel shunting. This second core contains 2MB of embedded video memory operating across a 256-bit 5.3GBps bus. It can deliver a fill rate of 664 million pixels per second in 24-bit colour and churn out 33 million polygons per second with transform and lighting effects.

The PSP will feature Dolby 7.1 multi-channel audio, with 3D sound. It will support MP3, AAC and Sony's own ATRAC3 sound formats. It uses AVC (H.264) and MPEG4 for video. The machine's UMD media can hold up to two hours' of DVD-quality video or four hours 'standard' quality, whatever that is. Either way, movies are displayed on the unit's 4.5in 16:9 widescreen ratio 480 x 272-pixel LCD, seen here.

One of the key features of the PSP is 802.11b wireless networking for multi-player gaming. However, speaking at a news conference yesterday, Kutaragi said Sony will at some point add phone facilities, bringing the device even more into line with Nokia's console-cum-phone N-Gage.

Kutaragi also said that PSP will not be a single device, but a range of machines targeting different users. He also stressed that the handheld's design has yet to be finalised.

Very sorry to double post here but this isn't a fair poll at all...saying DS owns in your post will never give fair results...all you say is DS rules some bad things about PSP then thats it...did you make this topic to feel good about yourself or something???

OK what did you say was bad about PSP(or good about DS)??

DS-It even has bluetooth so you can use pictochat to talk to your mates with it.
Ahem PSP is Wifi able thats worldwide...moron

DS-The DS rules and people have to realise that with its snazzy touch screen and voice reconigtion

quote someone who has actually played it (have you..i doubt it)

i dont like the touch screen in DS. like in metroid prime u use the touch screen to aim which is hard

whoops thats a load of BS then

PSP - You wont be wasting money on battery's every 2 hours (AKA for PSP you need batteries and they run out after 2 hours)

Ahem PSP doesn't use batteries it has a charger system and yes the basic charged battery lasts 2 hours but if you buy the additional battery pack that puts it up as high as like 8 hours...plus if you buy many thats as long as you want and as they dont run out like batteries it helps environment.

DS - The DS games will be in discs and great names like metroid and mario are going to be there

Well the PSP games come in discs and it has great names like Metal gear solid/Gran Turismo/Need for speed underground and also from someone who has played metroid

like in metroid prime u use the touch screen to aim which is hard

ROFL DS = crap HAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHA

I suggest you start a new poll and dont be as biased as you are...twat

Alright then if I wanted to I could write down a big list of games that are coming out on the DS and all the stuff it can do but why not go out and buy your self a NOM (nintendo official magazine.) I mean the DS will have just as many and a better selection if my poll isent fair so I start A poll can't vote in it myself and then give my own opinion. As for the language I mean this is just a freindly poll or do sony own you or somthing and you have to defend them at every turn and shout abusive words which just degrades us all really. Then when you use your defence as DS is s**t and PSP rules you can see that you have obviasly have your heart set from the realse of the PSP. I have never called the PSP junk or called the games naff they are quite the opposite its a good machine and has a good selection of games dont take it personaly its just a hendheld. k? icon_sweatdrop.gif

That makes no sense. You're quoting posts from different people and acting as if yoda is a hypocrite, rather than voicing his opinion. you just did the same thing.

And him liking the DS more affects the poll...how? You can't vote multiple times. Even if he goes on a friend's computer and makes an extra vote, so can freakin' you. So shut your freakin' hole, hypocrite!
