About The OrderYears after we were established in 2001 as the Runescape clan known as "SeeD", we have become a multi-game guild. With factions in many games such as Runescape, Guild Wars, EverQuest II, World of Warcraft, Age of Empires, among many others, we are a guild with endless horizons. Based in CurvedSpace, we can provide a complete experience for those who want to make the most of their online games, or just want to be a part of a growing community where anything within reason can be discussed.
Now known as the Arbiter's Order, we are in many ways a guild of guilds. While we do things in potentially any game, we have factions where activity is generally centered. These factions often work as their own guilds within CurvedSpace, but our Order builds a network in which they all can interact and grow. This builds a community of gamers and a medium of interaction in the thousands of online games out there. Being a part of CurvedSpace, we also provide a number of games for everyone to play on the site. These games range from over 200 scored arcade games to larger multiplayer games such as Legend of the Green Dragon. Not to mention, we have a rather large roleplay game on our forums called DarkStorm, based on a real game being built by our developers.
Another thing that is key to our Order's outlook... We accept everyone regardless of skill or level in any specific game. Some are experts or among the top levels, while others are less experienced. We do things that involve a wide range of experience, from all-inclusive parties, to organized questing or other related events, to high level raids, to everywhere in-between as it pertains to a game. Our community is helpful, and those who are a higher level are almost always willing to provide assistance to those who are new.
Since we exist in all games, we don't have a "multi-clanning" rule. It would also be highly unusual for another guild to have a problem with simultaneous membership here unless the other guild is also in the inter-game realm. What's the point of a guild disallowing membership in a guild in a different game, anyway? Associations in specific games are generally handled by individual Factions instead.
This is just one aspect of our free nature. Members have many ways to directly influence our Order, whether it be through a faction, the forums, hosting in-game events, or just being an active member. We try to be member-led to the greatest possible extent.
This is just a brief introduction to the Arbiter's Order, and indirectly to CurvedSpace itself. We are always working to improve our guild and to make it an even better place for gamers to come, and would be very glad if you decide to join us! If you're interested in joining, just click the next link in the Arbiter's Order block for some information on how to become involved. However, if you're not quite convinced, below are some things that our members have said about our Order and our Runescape Faction "SeeD"...
And here is what our members have to say:
---------------------------------
"He told me this was a great place, and guess what... he was right" - Bigrat2
---------------------------------
"i joined seed to get some ambition going again." - Bmatt54321
---------------------------------
"Runescape was getting pretty boring, training one skill after the other, and I wanted something more. I believe I first checked out a clan, can't remember the name, I believe it was Swedish, anyway. I emailed the leader, as it said to do if you wanted to join. Two weeks later, I began searching again, the leader never giving me a reply. I still haven't had one to this day.
The next clan I came to was, huzzah, SeeD! I saw it as an oppurtunity, a small...ish clan not quite at its humble beginnings, but already on its way to something greater. I immediately made my first forum post in the Recruit/Request board (an Archive now), and got an quick response, officially making me a SeeD.
Good times, good times..." - Hyperfried
---------------------------------
"I remember the first SeeD meeting I went to, back in november 2002. I was a noob so it was like a huge party to me" - Vietpryde
---------------------------------
"i hadnt gone active b4 I met Serpentfight and that was a month after i joined. serpentfight showed me around and i met Noalei and Baseballl. baseballl showed me x zolon. x zolon swhoed me Red Falco. and me and base found Star. then i became active cuz i foudn friends" - Spikeout
---------------------------------
"Alas, I joined SeeD because I heard Mike saying, "Dude....Do you want a clan?" I replied simply, "Sure...Depends if they're wealthy or not etc. etc." And then he pointed out SeeD. So I went ahead and did it." - Ruckus Fox
---------------------------------
"Anyways, I met Star Jedi, because of.. reasons, and she told me about SeeD. I told her I registered, and joined, and she kinda freaked out/got majorly excited or something " - Serpharimon
---------------------------------
"hehehe, t3h spr00gler made me join. I hate him forever for it. BUT, i love the clan.
hehehe" - Mase Windu
---------------------------------
"Uh, basically... I was planning to lead a clan of my own, but was rather new to RS and wanted to see how RS clans operated as compared to EQ guilds. SeeD was one of the clans I found; I watched it (them? you? us?) for awhile and said to myself, "Self, you're level 30. You can't even wear addy. Nobody wants to join your clan. Get over it." So I joined SeeD instead " - Phieta
How To JoinWant to join the Order?
To become an Arbiter is fairly easy. There are two ways... One to directly join from CurvedSpace, and one to indirectly join through a faction. Either way, you will probably want to join our forums so you can be a part of the Arbiter's Order as a whole.
First, a few things to check (optional, but recommended)...
* Our introduction. Here you will get the basic idea of how we work and what we're all about.
* The general rules of the Order.
* The general forum guidelines. The link is in the "Administrative" block on the left. You don't need to read everything for a lot of it is obvious, but please at least skim the rules. Simply put, don't post obscene content, respect other members, and don't post anything illegal.
* It wouldn't hurt to skim through the rest of the Order's block on the left.
Joining The Direct Way...
1. Register and log into the site.
2. Really, that's pretty much it. Feel free to post around, attend and/or host events, play the games on our site, create a blog, or do whatever else you'd like.
Joining Through A Faction...
1. This usually applies to joining a faction in-game, and the process may differ between factions. You may view the faction as a guild, but the guild is part of the Order, and joining a guild which is a faction here will indirectly make you an Arbiter as well.
2. This isn't really "step 2", but it is highly recommended that you register and join the "direct" way. Not only will you be able to access your guild's forum(s), but you will also be able to interact with many others and be a part of the community of which your guild is a part.
So... You joined, now what?
* One thing you will probably want to do is post in The Lobby. There you can introduce yourself, where others will generally reply to introduce themselves as well, and to welcome you as an Arbiter.
* Interested in events? Check out the Event Board. There you can see the events that others are planning, or if you feel like it, you can post an event that you would like to host! Every member can host events in any game, and it can be done simply through a thread in that forum.
* You'll probably want to check out the faction forums. It is not required that you join a faction (and events can be conducted even where there is no faction), but you will probably at least want to see where the current factions exist. To join a faction, contact one of the faction's leaders and/or post in the forum. You may simultaneously belong to more than one faction if you wish.
* Check out the chats. We have two applets: "Advanced" and "Basic". Worry not, both are easy to use, and some would probably argue that the "advanced" chat actually makes things easier since it provides more features. The only difference is that the "advanced" chat will run on fewer systems... It requires a more recent build of Java than some computers have. Both applets connect to the same server and the same channels, so it's up to you which you use.
Hail, Arbiter! Welcome to the Order!CODE
